Very Nice !!

I was under the impression that Chemdawg didn't yield very well. Guess I heard wrong.

I have 2 CD clones I'm vegging out now. This gives me some hope.

Aaarrrr Mateys, the Pirate is on the scene. Mind your manners scurvy dogs or he'll keel haul the lot of ye.

I dunno about yield Pirate. This is the '91 cut (that's the claim anyway) and it will definitely yield less than NL (but you can say that about most strains). And while I haven't had any really bad issues during the run, this is still pretty much a "dial-it-in" attempt since I'm not used to the climate, tapwater, or strain yet. So I guess I'm saying don't judge the strain on my results, since this run will definitely be underachieving the potential.

I've had bud from the same cuts and It's good stuff, with a heavy smell. Shiva Skunk will be the next run, just stuck a rooted clone into coco yesterday to become a mother. But if the end quality is there on the Chem, I'm going to try to transplant her to coco and re-veg her for a mother.

Full sails and double ration of rum for you, Pirate.

THANK YOU

Not that long these days because I already know how much pH down I need to use with my specific tap water and nute regime, so I can usually get it perfect right off the bat. But I'll let it mix anywhere from a couple hours up to a day, then check the pH on it and adjust more if necessary, let that sit and mix, retest, etc.

Every brand of nutes is different and will have varying levels of buffering ability, so if I'm using nutes or tap water that I don't have experience with, I lean toward letting it mix longer. For MY tap water (190ppm, 7.8 pH) and GH 3-part lucas formula, adding about 1 ml/gal of GH's pH-Down puts me right at pH 6.

This is my first attempt at growing so I am trying to gain as much hands on for this to be a "successful" (no dead plant).

I followed your advice and have used RO water ( much more pH stable) with Floro Nova Bloom(FNB) and let it sit for 6 hours. WOW... no change in TDS or pH. I could not get the same results with distilled.

I just pour the nute RO water into my WaterFarm (airstone at bottom) will later test again.

Also switched out the 150 HPS with 6x 23 watt DAYLIGHT fluoros due to tempt being in mid/hi 80's. Now my temps at 81.4 F

Have on order a portable air conditioner so I could put back the 150 HPS.

Please keep up you log I love seeing your grow!

What is the CFM rating of your fan? I guess least 300 cfm maybe more with the carbon filter?

I've priced out the cab (ClosetMaid #12281) at Home Depot (<$100) and noticed the dimensions [71 3/4"(h) x 24" (w) x 20 1/2" (d) approx 250sqft. ] not the same as yours. DARN!

Was yours custom ordered?

just from what Ive read...but I wouldn't do ALL daylight bulbs...here is what ive found here...and seems to work well.

Vegging:
3:1 Ratio
3 - Blue (5000 Kelvin +)
1 - Red (2700 Kelvin -)

Flowering:
2:1 Ratio
2 - Blue (5000 Kelvin +)
1 - Red (2700 Kelvin -)

just my :2cents:

Thanks for the info.

I am growing a feminized Lowryder#2 do you think it matters? I do not know.

I don't know if it will alter for different strains...maybe someone else has input on that...but just my thought...i don't think it would because this is just the type of light that your feeding the plant...now I have heard running different on/off cycles (ex 11/13, 10/14, etc...) instead of 12/12 depending on strains...since some "originated" in the northern hemisphere and some originated in the southern hemisphere, they "genetically" are used to different light times...

Looks killer elcap- you're stoked.. Do you have a chop date? How long were you told flower? Have you been lookin at the trics with a scope?? Nice job man..

nice cab! i run the same exact one, i used 1/4" plywood on the back to give it a little more rigidity.
i also run the same bulb, 400w...
i'm also a desert rat.... i love our weather. humidity sucks!
i'm only a few days ahead of you in flower too. about 12 days apart.

you ever looked into coco? i'm on my first run with it and would never go back to hydro(5yrs dwc&drip) for many reasons. main reason is that i check the ph one time a week when i make nutes with coco. just a little slower growth than hydro but it's no slouch, environment is usually the weakest link in growth rate anyways. temps are not a factor when growing in coco, at least with what i have seen. back in my hydro days i hated checking the ph, temp, ec, water level, topping off, REZ CHANGES, ect... in coco i just water them once a day, can't over water and thats it.

check out my thread, the proof is in the pudding.

Just put away my WATERFARM, putting seedlins in FOXFARM OCEAN FOREST soil.

I am just to inexperience for that gadget.

Funny you ask about the coco, just put a new mom into coco and I'm going to try it on the next round. Read alot of journals of guys using it, I'll check yours too. I know I can't run DWC mid summer without a chiller, and hear good things about coco, so it's time to find out. I want to run drip to waste I think, still trying to scheme up a big tray to hold the pots that my overflow will run into and drain from.

i'm sure you will be very happy with the results of the coco. the plants just love the stuff! i use the lucas formula and a little extra, rez dog style with the pk boosters, liquid karma, half dose type guy. saves so much nutes feeding this way and the crop is actually looking better than ever. i feel drain-to-waste is the only way to do it for K.I.S.S. no clogs no b.s. pump problems.

i use trashcans to grow in with a 1/2" hose draining out. sealed with a grommet and because it is on the bottom, i used a netpot trimmed up a little and placed over the drain (upside-down to keep coco out). seems to be working great cause it drains so well.

keep it green! good luck

Wow! What a complex and amazing aroma coming off this girl. Savory cooking grease followed immediately by a slightly less intense diesel then a high note of an intense perfume that remains forever on your fingers after working with her. The perfume aspect reminds me of maybe an opium incense or woman's perfume and fades to a slight mix of fruit and perfume.

If the end product retains that nose, holy shit this will be a keeper cut...and my dumb ass didn't clone her during veg. Better hope she responds to re-veg I guess.

And BTW, I hooked up my DIY carbon filter from the "filter for dummies" tutorial, and it's tits. Works perfectly, went from "smells like a weed factory" to zero odor as long as the fan is on.
