First time grow and PC Grow

So first I'd like to say many thanks to the ICMAG community for the awesome contributions throughout the forums that allowed me to research and build this case I've set up.

Super old PC case I found still not even fully gutted out because the drill is missing :wallbash: also the reason there is no carbon filter even though I have the mats to build it still need to drill out some holes so I can finish it. Will update with more pics when finally set up fully.

Last night running with the light on temp was at 83F checked on it when got home from work was at 90F I'm hoping once I gut out the top piece it'll allow better air flow and temp won't get that high.

As for the grow not sure what it is, seeds a friend gave me she does not even know.

And now onto the pics.

Overview of the case, top right is the part that makes me go :wallbash:

Temp and Hum

And the little ones. Day 3

Right now it seems like 5 sprouts, I'll end up having to move and repot (totally was not expecting all of them to sprout)

Any and all suggestions and comments are appreciated, even if you say OMG YOUR BOX IS SO UGLY.

I plan on moving the light further up once I remove the piece so it hangs much better.

*quick update*

Amazing what happens in an hour the same one I focused on close up before now sprouted 2 leaves. I'm doing a 12/12 cycle right now and tomorrow I'll be moving them to 16oz cups.

Just joking, you said I could say that!

But you're off to a good start, 5 out of 5 is great. pick the best female and start training her. How many watts are you using and do you plan on adding more?

You're right about that drive bay. Once you get rid of that you'll have more room to grow, hopefully you find the drill cos :wallbash: against the case won't remove it. I tried! Where are your intake vents? It looks like you have two fans at the back wall, are they exhaust?

good luck!!

Thanks, no really, the case is hideous I used black tape to cover up the styrofoam I cut out to place in the front. Finally got my drill back last night, will be drilling later when there's time to drill, light is on right now so don't want to disturb them. Running a single 26w (For some reason I thought it was more? I guess I read the "estimated" 100w somewhere else) when I remove the bays I do have another light plug to add another light.

Also heard its best to move them at night? (Someone correct me if I'm wrong please)

The two fans on the back are the exhaust the intake is cemented in the front bottom on the fan bay that it came with it's just a standard 80mm 2000rpm fan I'm wondering if I should maybe mount it on the top after I remove the drive bays? With no fans running the case seems to chill at 92 turned on the fans it drops down to 90 and then as the day gets cooler drops to 86 to almost 82 at night.

Also finally built a mini carbon scrubber using a small plastic cup cut out slits and filled with carbon and tied pantyhose around it then I blew on it like a retard to see if it if it was well ventilated and had carbon dust fly into my eyes so I'm guessing it works, taped that onto the front of the intake.
And yeah I tried the hammer and screwdriver method. I also did not have a hammer so I used a wrench. That did not work. And right now I got five beautiful little stemlings will update with pics later on today.

Cool maledar,
All cases start out ugly, mine had wooden front and back walls screwed to the pace and covered with washed chip packets. The reflective side of course.

Good you have another light, the more the better. Don't know what you mean by moving them at night. Do you mean the light or the plant? You need to get the light as close as possible, about 1 3 inches from the globe, as long as the leaves don't burn it's good.

Also, the scrubber needs to be in front of the exhaust, not the intake. The intake should be double the size of the exhaust, this way the outside air will be drawn into the cab and out through the scrubber and not out of any small gap in the case.

Looking good though, mj can take a battering and still put out some buds, I hope!!! I had heaps of heat stress on the Gigabud and it still grows nice.

Thanks much for the feedback. Yeah Alright I have the light fairly close probably why all five now have 4 leaves and 2 are rugged :yoinks:. I also bought some containers to build another box (I got a growing itch) And find a nice hydro store literally behind my house. (Sadly closed on Weekends). But will buy supplies from there to build my new two 18 gallon tote idea.

And yeah I meant moving the plants into new little pots I found :-D I plan on cloning them with the supplies I buy on Mon.

Oh and yeah..my bad I moved the filter now. I plan on getting one of those dual fan/filters for the new set up.

Alright it's been a few days and soon out of the five I'll need to choose two that I'll grow in these two 18 gal tote bins I got but now the case is finally gutted out and they have moved. Also picked up some Mother Earth Grow 4.8 1.8 4.3 for the nutes and now plant update.

1 Day before being moved

New little homes

This appears to be the healthiest one it will be one of the two chosen ones :abduct:

And now the case finally fully gutted out yay.

This is the only one of the seedlings that isn't growing as fast. perhaps will plant it under my tree see how it fairs in the outdoors.

I'll put up pics of my ducttape creation when it is completed.

Today I keep thinking about the plants a lot. Wondering if I can actually maintain 5 in there for much longer at the current set up. And wondering what lights to get for the new rubbermaid setup even though I only plan on having two plants in it...I plan on hanging two CFL bulbs from an extension cord through the top so I can hang it lower or higher depending. Anyone got some thoughts of watts to get?

Well..with the 2nd light now the temp is getting too 98F I know it'll drop down in the nighttime, but I want to say it's too high for the plant but then again...it had a big growth spurt from last night I think got 2nd set of leaves now...but then again I also did add the liquid nutrient....anyone mind giving a feedback if they look healthy?

This is the strongest one of the batch this is growth from the last pic of it when it only had 4 leaves a little worried about the wilt appearance it has....

And this was the runt of the bunch he sort of..grew...

Case temp is back to 91..guess the air flow got a little better. Ordered a pack of fans that are supposed to be faster maybe it'll help the temp I'll use them for my other grow box regardless.

Apparently I read the nute bottle wrong and went high ball instead of low ball. At least, that's what the guy reading this post tells me (You know who you are) take a pic of the bottle and let me see :p
Anyways...update.
Probably my favorite one..tonight will finish the box and place him in a nice big pot to grow big and strong.

They still seem..droopy to me :(

Meh..I don't even want to post pics..they are basically hugging the pots drooping down all the way...case temp is at 97...took out the 2nd light..most likely due too giving them nutes too early, and messing up the nute formula.
