I formerly did bjj, muay thai, mma, and other martial arts. In other words, bow down and accept that I am your master when it comes to this, even though I'm currently not training anywhere other than weightlifting.

MMA is wack. Its a contest to see who can get punched in the face more times without falling over. Real martial arts are the way to go.... Theres 80 year old japanese dudes that could wup up on anyone in the ufc

There's actually a really funny video of some old guy like ur talking about getting his ass kicked by some shotokan karate guy.

Overall i thought UFC99 was a decent event........I thought the fights were damm good and some coulda gone either way.
Cain Velasquez had another impressive win and im going to be interested in seeing who the ufc put him against next. I thought the Franklin and Silva fight could of been better, its gonna be interesting seeing them in their new weight divisions. The Cro Cop v Al Turk fight ended the only way i coulda seen it ending, shame tho that a poke in the eye was the start of the end, these things happen tho and i dont think it was delibrate. Mike Swick impressed me again, man he looked in fantastic shape. A very good night for the UK fighters. Terry Etim, big heart, big potential. Broken nose and all and he still found a way to victory. I think the Davis v Hardy fight coulda gone either way, i would not of been suprised if davis got the nod it was that close a fight. Davis appeared to dominate for the majority of time in each round, however Hardy landed the better shots. Good wins for Kelly and Taylor also.
What does everyone think about TUF? We have an all team UK final :woohoo:? Who predicted that at the start???? It should be a interesting fight between Andre and Ross and hopefully they will put on a show. The final qualifying match could go either way but im gonna go for James Wilks to beat Frankie Lester again.
Does anyone know the latest with Setanta sports? The last i heard they had a week to come up with a rescue package. They are still broadcasting on sky as i type this, so hopefully they have got it sorted. If they do go belly up im sure Sky will see the potential and snap the UFC rights up for over her in the UK. Only problem with that is no doubt sky will have each event as a PPV. :frown:

Shane Carwin is the next big thing!! he'll be the heavyweight champ in no time.

He impressed me when he knocked Gabriel Gonzaga into next week with a short right hand while he was falling back so not full power punch.

He would knock Lesnar out clean with a clean punch! darkness :2cents:

I'll refrain from commenting on charliemurphy's silly comment. He already made a big enough ass of himself without us having to help him out. :moon:

Anyways, 99 didn't end up being as good as it looked on paper but was still a great show none-the-less.
The Wandy / Franklin fight was worth the price of admission alone. Although seeing it go to decision was a huge shock to me. I've seen alot of people complaining that Wanderlei won that fight but after watching it close to half a dozen times now I think it was fair that Rich got the decision. (And I'm a huge fan of Wandy. One of the greatest fighters of all time. A very classy guy who cares about the fans more than anything and puts his heart out there every time he fights.)

The last 15 seconds where Wandy was throwing elbows and Rich was throwing punches gave me chills. It's sad to see Wanderlei lose 5 of his last 6, and it's getting clear that he's nearing the end of his career, but look at who he's fought in those 6 fights. Guy needs a break. I hope they don't throw him into the deep end right away when he fights next at middleweight. Someone along the lines of a Dan Miller or Chael Sonnen would be nice.

It was nice to see Swick add another stoppage to his record and I'm glad that Hardy won too. Both should be fighting top ten competition very soon.

Apparently Mirko has already signed a three fight deal with Dream and left the UFC but I don't think it's been confirmed by him or his management yet so I'll hold out on that for a bit. If he did infact sign with Dream I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Monson who has looked nice lately. And Cain pulled out a nice dominating win but I can't say I was all that surprised. He showed adversity when he got rocked those couple of times and it only solidified that he's got scary potential and all the hype is the truth.

Anyone see a 310 pound Tim Sylvia get one punched by Ray Mercer on Saturday too? Not good for him at all...
