Where do you find these? I wouldn't mind finding really nice black market eaves dropping devices........start mailing out lamps to people. The good bugs are microscopic and cheap, just expensive to lose to smart people.

its a code used on some cell types that provides its serial number i believe.

dont know how true the "where its made" part is tho

Type your phone designation and the words 'engineer code' into google and you will find there is a huge list of codes you can use to change hidden settings or unlock your phone by code only. The *#06# code only shows the Imei number, theres a code to reduce signal quality and increase battery life, show own number, unlock new networks. There's all kinds of codes available, nothing nefarious at all. Try it and see, i've used them on many phones before and never had a days trouble.
