Afghan Kush Ryder not flowering yet

hey, you guys have another member on board, I still have mine going in my box and it looks better everyday, super healthy. I have to say though, I'm ecstatic about the fact that my white dwarfs came in and I have a bean germinating. I may just keep it going in there once I get the white dwarf in too. I'll get a pic of the kush ryder.

OK boys, updates?

Rexerton, looks like you only have about another four months to go.

The AKR lady I didn't euthanize is over 70cm tall and getting lots and lots of budding action, but unless you rub her and take a sniff (fruity-fuel scent that I love) there is almost zero odor. Like, none.

I wanted to snap a shot but the top is so dense it's almost impossible to discern anything.

well, the kush ryder was pulled the other day anyway, figured it would just be sucking up light from a femmed white dwarf I have going now, that actually popped yesterday. Should be exciting!

Here is an update on the Afghan Kush Ryders that I have going. Sloooooooooow!!! They are 9 weeks and the buds are at a standstill. I have them outside with lots of natural sunlight. I do live at 9000 ft elevation but temp is fine and sun as well. These things look great. Beautiful plants but I now fear production is going to be minimal. I contacted Attitude about their lack of "Decorative Souvinier Quality" but no response or offer of recorse. The Buddha White Dwarfs are great and would certainly recommend them but I can say I will not buy the Afghan Ryders again. Certainly don't trust the pictures. As many have said, by now a SOG would have been a better way to go with a regular strain. I am going to do another grow on the auto's but would like to try a new strain so any success stories or recommendations would be appreciated. To bad somebody doesn't have a "Ryder" pack so you can try a number of different strains to see which is best. Nobody likes to invest in failure.

the industry needs to name two classes of autos, auto dwarf=flowers in 3-4 weeks, and auto non dwarfs=flowers in 6-8 weeks. i think this will happen soon .

after watching this thread i put 2 afghan kush ryders into 12/12 hps and flowerring great a few weeks later. I know yield will hurt but i needed the room.

mine is 11 weeks old today. I'm just waiting for the pistils to brown up. It's a beast of an AF, but I'm worried about the complete lack of odor. Like, nothing. You have to rub it, like a buddha's belly, to get any scent out of her. I wonder if it is related to my low humidity conditions. Yield should be decent.

I promise to post pics of harvest.

Im only days away from week 5 of my Dwarf Mix. they stink like crazy and seem to be packin' on the buds.... nice to see some fellow members with the (dwarf or not) AF's around the same time, I was looking for a comparison.

im very impressed so far. only downside is there does seem to be high male to female ratio. the big female i have in flower is bushy with lots of bud sites. another female has just shown on her 3rd set of leaves. they are slow at first but growth will speed up. excellent plants so far. white russian x dieselryder i beleive

Sorry guys, here's an update.

A neighbors tree fell into our yard and onto our house. Well we had all sorts of people from the neighborhood walking around our front yard and I decided I had to get rid of the thing quick. I got paranoid and chopped and hid it and subsequently dried the immature buds and put it in a jar. The thing smells just like mids or decent schwag. Hayish, grassy with mild fuel and skunk undertones. Before chop it was smelling like old fruit and kerosene. The high is better than schwag but it has exactly the same flavor.

There's a cop that lives down the street and I had a paranoid fit and started deleting posts... in retrospect stupid move, but no biggie. Hope everyone's AKR's turn out dank.

Always better to be safe than sorry. I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. Woke up to the sound of a chain saw. Look outside and see these guys cutting down all the trees next to my fence. Which was also right where I had my plants sitting at. Ran outside put them in my shed. Then not even 5 mins later this guy is knockin on my door asking if he can go in my back yard incase branches fall back there. I lucked on on that one. Locked the ladies in the shed and all was good.

They flower irrespective of light cycle at about two months old. G13 Labs has a variety called Quicksilver which is described as having this exact life cycle as well. Mine would have been done in another couple of weeks had this crazy shit not went down.

I cut off the lowest branch's top this evening, just to taste. We'll see.

I think it needs two more weeks, more or less, maybe a little less.

Funny, I have some Lowlife AKxDiesels going and the biggest has shown sex (a lady) at 14 days from seed in pack. Very bushy growth but short, only 13 cm. What a contrast to the AKR experience.

I hope all the AKR growers keep this thread going. I'd like to see what could have been with this variety. I've got the fem G13 Labs Quicksilver going strong now and it's passing up the Diesel Ryder's in size and vigour. It's definitely hardcore sativa leaning, so I'm hoping this is an auto Super Silver Haze! Who knows what's in this thing though. I am absolutely enthralled at trying this one and I'm putting it in a safe environment so it can finish for the full time. It's going to get strategically dusted with JD's Diesel Ryder pollen so I can have some fun, quality auto phenos to play with. These two month and flower strains could have some promise for small scale hobby growers. Alot more yield without playing with lighting cycles.
