What about Purple Kush?

PK is everywhere out here and not that rare at all. The real deal thats hidin in the hills is one of the most stunning plants I have ever seen! It is beautiful on every level for sure. It also is a slow grower which could be from the age of the clone and no real breeding her out. She is in effect pure and very old. There are so many cuts and hybrids that you should be able to get a hold of one with relative ease. You can even get seeds now if you know where to look. A true elite she will not be a cash cropper ever but if done right she can do better than a ounce per thats for sure. And the high is one of my favorites of all time so you can see my bias. She is always easliy the most popular herb amongst friends. Good luck with the hunt!

Im just going to assume your in California..... I hope you bastards know how good you have it  I couldnt even imagine being able to walk into a store and buy clones, seeds, and meds.

Jenn - Cali it is! I moved from North Carolina back in tha day and once I saw how crazy the herb scene was, I knew I was never leavin.

Kel - The SR-71 cut is debated as a hybrid. I have grown it and it is close to the original but has too much vigor not to be bredto something else. Although its origin is from kush lines it doesntseem to me to be the on I am speaking of.

BigH - You need to get at me(pm) and maybe this cut will find its way to ya!! Yes this cut!!! Keep the faith homie!!

Havent smoked the real PK since the early 2000's. It doesnt come around anymore here in socal at least not the real PK. I grow sr71 PK and it is nothing resembling the old school PK. It is top notch purple tasting smoke. I like it better then GDP and urkle. I phased those two cuts out and kept the sr71 pk as my purple strain mom.

What was so different about the PK and the Sr71 cut? Ive seen alot of debate over that SR71 cut as well.....I think I saw JoeSchmoes grow of it and it looked real nice.

Sr-71 was done by Tric. Tech boys and they say its the pure purple kush. It does seem to be a great cut but the original grows way slower, doesnt go purple as easily, and the frost level and high on the original is devastating imho and the SR-71 is not so devastating. I have that cut and run it often just dont know for sure what it is.

The orig. PK I also have is from the Triangle and the friend who gifted her prolly cant spell computer. He can however grow top notch heirloom cuts from his family and friends up there. He and the family have grown this particular plant for a very long time and it has never been hybridized or bred to anything. You cant follow Joe's grows and get an idea cause Joe could grow freakin tomatos and make them look super dank.

The vegas cut showed up fairly recently(or at least from what I gather) and I am not sure where it came from or who is working with it. I doubt if it is the cut I have as the folks who gave it to me from up North dont get out much and arent known as a sharing bunch. Could be though. Thats the prob also. So many people claiming to have real or authentic cuts and no way to ever really tell the real from the fakers.

Your saying you've heard that the Las Vegas PK is not the real deal?

J

Jenn

Well im never going to get my hands on the real deal anyway, I'd be happy to get the PK from that SR71 shop.

I have the same cut of sr71 pk that chubbynugs has. It's a grapey, candyish, kushy smelling thing. The taste is excellent.
When people say low yielding, I think that could be peceived in different ways. This cut has fat buds.
The plants does grow slow with lots of branches, and since it doesn't really stretch, you have to veg it big if you want big buds.
I have to defer to chubbynugs and his experience with all the different purp strains, I know he's smoked em all.
I've smoked grape ape, which was about the same as pk.
conclusion: sr71 pk is real deal enough for me.

Weed has a lot of conspiracies when it comes to strains for the most part!
Lets just solve it and say I crossed a purple variety coming from afghan origin with a pure kush plant that was grown in my back yard.
Problem solved.

There are so many purple cuts that are floating around now that I dont know how you could ever distinguish real from fake unless grown from seed. The sr-71 cut is a great plant in my eyes and is everything you could ask for! Period! Having grown GDP, Grape Ape, PK, and a few other purple strains I dont believe you can go wrong with any. I also want to get my hands on some of the Purple OG kush seeds on another site to play with. If you ask me, those would be a great alternative for anyone who is not in a med state.

Savy - No pics yet but I just got my cut and took some clones.

SR71 is not PK at all. It's your average bay area sweet purple tasting strain. It has an average purple indica high with a soft taste. The PK I used to smoke in the bay/santa cruz in the early/late 90's was straight up "Purple Kush"...Nice kushy unique flavor, and long lasting high...The taste is unique like Juicy Fruit...Been searching for PK & Juicy Fruit for quite some time..

I've grown plants called Purple Kush, sent to me from the west coast, but I wasn't convinced it was anything other than Purple Urkle. Mine may have been different from other Purple Kushes, I may have gotten a Purple Urkle labeled as a Purple Kush. IF... the cut I got WAS Purple Kush, then people area calling Urkle Purple Kush. I loved Urkle, BTW... Just not a big yielder.

sneaky- there are some pictures in my gallery that I am guessing is this Las Vegas Kush you are talking about

covered in crystal...grape candy incense smell/flavor. relaxing stone. leaves a distinct candy/incense/floral smell in a bag that is VERY unique

I am pretty sure it's the same. almost like a Blueberry or a Bubblegum X Kush

here are some pics...
