First time grow 400w scrog

Asil it's still looking like a clinical set up i am still loving it and i'm loving your screen too mate very snazzy indeed are you a natural! Really wish i went with a screen but hey we can't have it all.
You have gotta be chuffed with how it's all going? I know i am ecstatic!

End of Week Five

Well I have tried to upload the couple of photos I have and Icmag keeps giving me a error message. Nothing real exciting going on plants are growing like mad. I realize now that I can't really get to the plants in the back to work them threw the screen. The three plants that are smaller are just getting to the screen and the three in the back are taking ove the screen. So I plunged them into 24hrs darkness then tommorrow night I will turn the light and change to my hps bulb. It is time to see where they are boys or girls. Things have been running steady.

I am feeding the crap out of them.I am running a 1400 ppm on a .5 conversion. They haven't even blinked.

Light is 18" above canopy.
Temp= 71f
Res=67.2f

I deciede to drop a couple of seed that I got from the bay. Put them in towels Sunday a 3pm and today when I looked both had 1" taproots nice and bright white!! So I put them into rockwool and placed that in to dixie cups covered with plastic wrap until they sprout. That is all for now. I have been busy tinkering with my new inside cabinet. Still trying to nail down the specifics!! You all take care and good growing!

How did the girls react to the 24 hours of darkness? GanjaGrower told me someone he knows had little or no stretch after doing the same.

Standaman, Hey buddy, things are going good. Guess I kind of been waiting to put more picture up till I sex them. But just for you I will grab some at lights on tonight.

Firsttimer76, Yea I am stoked on the genetics also. They are trucking right along. The NYCD x C99 Is twice as big as the SD x Chemd. Gave them there first shot of 1/4 strength nutes on Monday, .3 EC. Once they get big enough I am going to take some clones and sex them right away. Need to have them ready for flowering when my shed bagseed finish. I also am going to run a few in the cabinet.

I will put some pictures up tonight when the lights come on. I added another passive intake vent to my shed room. I only had 25 square inches. I added 66" more. It needed it. Now my temps never go above 78 degrees and that is with the lights on. It is crazy them outside temps are 92 feels like 100 right now and my little shed is trucking along at 72 degrees! Now I have no worries about this summer and the heat. So like I said I will have a update and pictures for you all tonight.

LOL don't get to excited. Some of the tops got bleached from the light one night and they are all smashed under the screen. I really don't have this scrogging thing down. I understand the concept but I get confused on what to let grow thru the screen. I basically have been keeping everything under it till yesterday then I had to let the thru because there was no more room under it.

And yes it finally has come together. Now I can concentrate on my cabinet. I will be flowering in there right after the fourth I believe!!

Well here you go. I need to work on my picture taking abilities. That is on draw back of running this RDWC with the screen, I can't remove my plants to take photos and I never thought about shutting off the light lol.

So every thing is going fairly smoothly. Waiting patiently to sex them. I am starting to see some signs of preflowers. This on don't look good for the home team.

How and what leaves should, could I remove? Once the are sexed I am planning on taking everything below the canopy off. I really am hoping that I only end up with four females at the most. I am learning alot on this grow. I will only be running three or four out there from now on. And they will be all females so I won't have to play this guessing game. I might be upgrading to a 600w Lumatec. I can get the ballast and bulb for 200. Then I would move my 400w inside to my cabinet.

I think I will make a four site aero unit for them. I may only run two though haven't decided, But they will get run in the shed also.

This is a real nice grow. i just started and im using soil but i hope to come up with somthing as nice as your setup! good job my man

im using 400w MH to veg my 6" sour diesel clones and my Chem dog clones. my leaves are all twisting and some are turning yellow.. probably due to the temps inside my grow cab or maybe the PH? not so sure.. im in the process of building a new cab now that i know more.

Thanks mixedwell. I would check the PH as the first thing. I am not sure on soil but I think the PH should be like 6.0-6.5. Take a look at this.

This should help. As far as your setup, take your time and design it out right the first time. Then you can tweak it as you go.

I really could do with learning more about the Scrogging cos its getting bushy down below! lol But i'm wary incase it all goes wrong.
Your right about the screens being restrictive though its too awkward getting in to work.

You getting any high humidity at lights off? I'm getting hurt with it i am 80% Not good when the buds start poppin

Pontaic, Thanks man for stopping by. You and I both can't wait to see the end results. Like I said eariler this is just to get the bugs out of my room and get used to growing. It is bagseed but I bet the end result will be better then the bag the seed came in.

Standaman, Hey bro, I just got back from a little three day get away with the wife. Yes I noticed my bleaching the second day of 12/12. Oh well live and learn. I just hope the didn't fry while I was gone. I can't check them till 8pm so I don't know? I check my temps and even though the temps outside where 94-98 with feels like temps up to 110 my room never got above 80.5F I knew you would love to here that. As far as my RH, yes I noticed right away the the humidity shot up as soon as the light went out. With the light out there is no way to burn off the water that the plant transpire. So I went out to the yard sales and fornd a 40pint dehumidifier for $5. I feel so cheap sometimes, but hell those things like $150 bucks new. Well more later my sister just showed up.

Hmmm exactly what i have found, how can you correct it? Could it just be the bud sites absorbing energy as they get ready for flowering? As on mine it just seems its the leaves with bud sites not fan leaves going lighter.

Yeah well mine aint far off that infact they are that and even less but mine are running overnight haha.
Oh yeah i noticed it from week 1 but that was in veg so that was allowed but in flower i'm thinking budrot or mould! Not really on my wishlist so want the humidity thing sorted out quick, might be doing the bargain de-humidifier myself, i got no more money for gadgets just nutes and the rest can come later

Well I thought I typed a update last night but low and behold it is gone. So to rephrase it again. Last night was a happy night for me. I returned from my little get away to find 4 females and 2 males. I culled back the males and spread the females out under the screen. Now there is a little more room under the screen. One of the males was a brute and one was a runt. So now my four ladies have room to spread out and really pack it on. I am excited about watching the development of the buds. Just thought I would update you all. Pictures to come tommorrow night.

Pontiac, Yes the dehumidifer works. I thought it was a steal also. I will have some pictures of the flowering ladies and my seedlings tommorrow night for you!

Well I am a day late with the pictures so I apologize. I should have read more about the scrog method. I keep my plants under the screen until I sexed them and now I think the stretch is almost over. That and I am starting to wonder if the yellowing of the one plant is from the light or not? I know that my yields will be affected from my not understanding the scrog method completely. Well here are some pics and all.
