Has anyone seeded a feminized seed plant with pollen from a regular male?

Just germinated a dozen F2 seeds of Dr. Atomic Northern Lights. Germination of 40 seeds in the F1 generation was 100%, this is a superior strain IMHO. Hoping for as many males as possible from these 12 looking for the best male to pollinate clones from 15 strains, including 2 strains from feminized seed. Has anyone out there ever seeded a feminized seed "mother" with pollen from a regular male? Any problems in the F2 generation of this cross with hermies? Or will the resulting seeds have a 50/50 ratio of male/female offspring? Keep on rockin' in the free world.

The offspring would be standard seeds as it's a male/female cross.

It would be best for you to stress test the mother before you use her for breeding, though. Subject her to a variety of extreme circumstances that would normally cause plants to herm, if she doesn't produce bananas under this extreme stress she's a true female and can be used for breeding.

You would assume the likelihood of it being a true fem will depends heavily on the parents of the femmed seed, and the method with which the reversed pollen was obtained.

That's not to say that the progeny from a non-stress tested mother would result in more herms than usual, it just means you shouldn't be too surprised if it did..

this is a highly debated and emotive topic, with experts divided on the pros and cons of it.
this thead is long and meandering but has a lot of useful info for and against. basically you are talking about using selfed or self pollinated seeds in breeding projects

im no expert but personally my conclusions so far are the same as mcsnappler - selection is everything.
make sure you run the mum a few times to make sure it is stable and not prone to hermi-ing under stress, and test the offspring well too - but again that would apply to any breeding project

thank you all.....

thank you all.....

.....for the prompt responses. will stress test some feminized cuttings and will keep watching for your input and the input of others.

I would make the seeds, grow some out and see what happens.

I am going to do the same thing with a female RKS and cross it with NYCD pollen.
