I figured it out... your post is of the first reading of the bill, not the final version as passed by the House of Commons.

An honest mistake, no harm no foul. I had assumed your info was sourced from a newspaper that got the info wrong, which is not uncommon.

The info I posted is, I do believe, correct.

Chimera, yeah, after looking at the instructions and following them to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, I definitely think you're right. It says: "if the number of plants produced is less than 201 and more than five". Thank you very much for the dialogue and clarifying, I will edit my first post to account for this. I'm truly sorry

Satch... check the date at the bottom of the page:

Date Modified: 2008-12-12

That table was constructed when the bill was first read into parliament. The Bill was obviously amended after the first reading.

I think it is important to note that the mandatory minimum ONLY applies to production with intent to traffic. As always with laws, there seems to be possible loopholes for those that are able to navigate them. That's what good lawyers are for.

i sorta noticed that little loophole when first reading through the bill, it doesn't really say anything about growing WITHOUT intent to distribute unless you've got over 200 plants...

btw you're a great breeder chimera! c-plus will always be in my top 3

I was thinking the same thing - It said a lot about trafficking having to be involved for minimums, and trafficking must be proven, no? What if you don't sell it and are just happy with the money saved by providing your own? I'd sure like some clarification on that one for sure - the legalese posted is hard to follow...

As for Canadian politics, I've had a saying that I've used for quite awhile to describe the situation...

"Doesn't matter what colour the shithouse is - Red, Blue or Green. The contents are still the same."

Bastards. They are continuously taking the wrong path...

the worst part is i anticapate that the harsher penalties will drive the currently inflated street prices up even further. i really hope we can get some clarification.

who made the mms? was it ronald regan? thank your good old neighboring former president for this one! it sucks that there enforcing the ganja over there so much , but at the same time i believe its a way to shut down the powers that be so some sort of legalization can come forth. just think about it, if no1s gettin anyweed people are gona start going fuckin loopy. flippin out, what better time to capitalize on legalization or a federal medicinal law. Massachusetts has all sorts of initiatives to fully legalize by obamas 2nd term, and in RI you will be able to walk in an get a free joint starting next year i believe all u need is doctor recommendation. things are on the up and up here in the USA. u best believe they are going to continue increasing the pressure on the borders until this flow is cut into pieces. once the feds figure they have it undercontrol all sorts of growing law and stipulations on how many plants u can grow will come out, there will be licenses given to those who only show good background. the gov aint stupid they want our money, and the first thing there going to do is shutdown the sources of the money and the weed.. so they can create the sources here in america, tax them, and kill the ganja game just like they did with bootleggers. shit is unfolding quickly and if i could give one phrase of advise it would be "get yours while the gettin is good" <--my thoughts lataa

well it looks like a lot of us are gonna go to jail now for gardening and distribution even though were not affiliated with gangs in any way...

Copied from my email to Ignatieff - for obvious reasons, I have deleted my contact info, but I did give my real name and phone number.

I hope he calls - I know he won't.

Rat bastard :wallbash:

Michael Ignatieff doesn't give a rats ass about the people of Canada. He only came back here to try and further his own political aspirations, and further the interests of his American political and business contacts and their agendas.
Voting for Bill C-15 is only the beginning. Canadians would be wise to prevent this Rat from obtaining any more political power than he already possesses. Given the chance Ignatieff will be only too happy to sell this entire country down the river.

The problem is that anyone who wants to grow pot for personal use, should have more than 5 plants. Canada is going to punish homegrowers as drug dealers.
Well I guess now it´s better for Canadians to support trafic, now that growing your own pot became more dangerous...
everybody knows that can´t be any positive effects in this C-15

The most awful thing about it is there are a lot of people who will grow in numbers instead of growing real big ones and suffer more, $1000 a plant is such a joke. Lets hope they won't be able to afford helicopter fuel this year. I just can't believe this passed with those ridiculous plant laws, that shit better not hold up in court good lawyer or not. While were at it lets pass Bill C-51 to since its just as stupid, this country is going 1984.

Yo hablamo espanol :) Viva Sensimilla revolutione forever. I thought that I was lucky to live in a country with no mandatory minimum's for cannabis. See what thought did. Visions of Andalusia and haze skunk plants rising to the sky 15 footers and no paranoia about the Gestapo kicking down my door to send me to the can for cultivating mother nature's cannabis plants. Safe and happy growing to all who dare. Cheers
