"Boulala spent more than three months in hospital and suffered post-traumatic amnesia for 65 days. By the time he was discharged from hospital he was able to walk 200m without a walking aid.

He was likely to be permanent affected by the injuries he sustained, Judge Pullen said. There was a question mark over whether he would ever be able to get on a skateboard again, she said.

Judge Pullen said Boulala had a reduced range of movement, strength and co-ordination and suffered spasticity in his lower right leg. He still has trouble putting on his shoes and getting out of the shower.

Boulala, 29, has been living in Richmond with his Australian girlfriend since he was released from hospital."

There is an Ali Boulala board that was put out in 2003. It is from the flip Really Sorry video. It has Boulala sitting on a motorcycle, with a bottle of beer in his hand. Since the accident, this board has been pulled from being sold, and is very hard to locate. Although it is sometimes possible to find on Ebay or Kijiji, its very unlikely, as there are a limited amount of these boards left in circulation. A scratched up board is still considered very rare, due to the accident.


It's weird, just yesterday I was flipping through skate video's on youtube and I came across Ali Boulala's 25 stair ollie, Ouch.

Not to be a video posting harlot, this will be one of my last, unless something really cool pop's up.

On a better note, check this girl out who truly rips. She could be at home, bumming out on the sofa, but she chose to make the best out of life and skate! She autimatically gained 7 points in my book, I'd date her if I wasn't married and fell in love with the person she was...after all, she skates and is cute!

I used to skate quite a bit before I went to college. I was getting product from my local shop and was even getting flowed some shoes through C1rca footwear before I quit and the new breed of skater blew up. You know, flip in - flip out shit. Some of my buddies from Ottawa are still skatin' large though and gettin' footy in vids and magazines, tourin' the world.

Speakin' of Flip, I have Rodrigo Tx's first signature Flip board ("Dont Mess With Rodrigo Tx") signed by the entire team in 2007 at a demo in Ottawa including Shane Cross and Boulala. I need to get a fuckin' camera rollin so I can get some pics up!

Yeah he's got steez for dayyyyyyys. Used to skate with him a couple times a year at Legacy (http://www.spectrum-sk8.com/parks/ontario/ottawa.html) in Ottawa. I usually just sat back and watched for the most part. ahah. Real nice on his board and a nice guy too. Everyone would just call out tricks and he'd bust whatever you had for him.

Since we're talking skateboarding, could you recommend me some good videos that have came out in the last few years?

I used to have a TransWorld subcription and the owner of my local shop would lend me all the new movies when they'd come in so for a long time I was right on top of things but I pretty much up and left skateboarding entirely a few years back so I don't even know who's who anymore or what's good anymore. I'd love to catch up a bit.

I think the last movies that I remember seeing were were C1rca's "It's Time" and the DVS video which was what, 2006? Girl's "Yeah Right!" was a pretty big deal when it came out but that must have been even earlier than those two.

when i was younger i bmx'ed and skated but i am getting too old now my body can't take the falls any more ,i know i tried to skate again a few years ago after not skating for 11 years maybe landed on my ass.i would love to get back into either one if i could.i still have my skate so i am sure i'll try again
