Damn it, my plants are showing ugly leaves. They're all dry and shows quite worrying colors.
I've been told it's some mushroom/fungus and that I should treat with bleach water.
Can anyone confirm wether it is fungus or not and how to get rid of it ?
Help please !

I can safely confirm that mushrooms dont have leaves so it's safe to say that's a plant, not a mushroom.

You could just pull it out of the soil and flush it down the toilet if you want to get rid of it. :yoinks:

Seriously are you yanking our chains or what ?

It does indeed look like powder mildew, or some kind of fungus?.... A sulfur burner is the only real cure that I know of. Good luck, BC

If your happy with a guess i would vouch for grower error, please replace grower.

Thanks BC or your reply ! Indeed, I should have chosen to call it a fungus eheh. But I doubt it's powdery mildew. Nothing white & nothing powdery in there !

sorry I poked fun at your question mriko, I had looked at your gallery and thought by the nice plants that you were just yanking our chains.

So anyway, lets try to figure this out. They look pretty fried to me so lets get some basic information.

What is that medium they're in?
What have you fed them and how strong?
Input pH of your waterings and feedings?
Run-off pH ?
How often have you watered or fed them?
How large are the plants and is there anything worth salvaging? a photo of the plants from the side view would be helpful

There's a lot more questions that could be asked but this should clue everyone in more to help you.

I'd be curious to see the underside of the leaves in close up aswell. Knowing what lighting is being used and the grow style/medium etc would also help.

eheh, no problem 10k. Sorry for my scarcastic reply, dry times gets me somewhat unfriendly mood and seeing my plants sick doesn't help !

To answer your questions, plants are 3 weeks old, been under 24/0 cycle since the beginning, under 76w 6900K cfl.
Ph of water and feeding solution goes around 7/7.5, don't know about the run off, will check it next time I feed them.

I water them about every two days or so, and they've been fed about 4 times, with light doses (I always dose lightly during the very first weeks). They've received some hesi Super-vit, ghe Bioessentials, Stinging neetle juice and biogrow.

Plants are far from being large eheh, rather tall and stemmy. Seeds were germinated with some GA3 and I stoopidly forgot to rince the sprouts before putting insoil and they have stemmed like mad. Height range from 15 to 25cm roughly.

On most of them the first two sets of leaves are gone, upper sets looks ok for now, except for one or two.

Here's pic, was shot on 29th. I have discarded all sick leaves (will shoot the underside later this evening dogboy).

Looks more like a p def than a blight or fungus If your hitting them with a 7 to 7.5 going "in" than that would explain the P def for sure.

Hard to say wtf to do about them at this point with all the crap they've had thrown at them already,
especially the gibb acid and high pH, but lowering the input pH might help.

But imnsho, if they were mine, I'd scrap them and get some nice healthy robust vigorous new sprouts going.

No offense intended, but those are some damn lanky sickly looking sprouts, suffering a severe case of "Charlie Brown" syndrome.

I'm not sure I agree 10K, if there's any humus in that soil at all it would buffer a 7.5 PH wth no problems. Imo it looks like the blight ( which is fungus ) that I've seen on some folks tomato plants. I never seen it on pot though.

There may very well have been fungus in the soil, and by giving it the condtions it needs, it started growing. If it is fungus, it's a never ending battle. A highly active compost tea as a soil drench and foliar feed my help some. The Seranade (sp?) may also work too?

No offence, but I thought of Charlie Brown aswell, when I first saw these plants. lol I think I would start again too, with different soil though and add some *perlite* so it's not so heavy. Fungus loves wet soggy soil, besides roots and aerobic bactreia love air, an that's what it's all about. Happy soil = happy plants. Good luck! BC

haha ! no offense taken, I'm the first to say that they look ugly !
Fact is that it's only my third indoor grow so I'm more teaching myself than really growing my own . It's all about novelty & learning for me !

Been suggested to spray with baking soda solution, gave a try to the worst looking ones, wait & see...
I have a few younger ones already going which look neat. If mushroom, err... no, fungus!, then it might be my own fault as I only lightly cleaned the pots they're in (I'm a lazy arse...) :spank:

I'll do better with the younger ones which are still in their germinating pots !

Thanks for insights & advises everyone !

So did you ever check that runoff, and what is the medium you're using ?

This time, try not feeding the sprouts anything until they've grown up some and put on some foliage, at least wait until after they've begun eating their cotyledons (those two round seed buster leaves are natures first food for seedlings)

You did feed the hell out of those sickly ones ya know ?
