10 gallons a day-

hey guys, so i am doing this coco for the first time. just curious about some things. i am 10 days into flower and they are already 2 ft. 50 plants. i am using about 10 gallons a day wit 5 to 10 percen trun off. everyday when i go out the 2 gallon pots are dry enough to water again. am i over doing it. the plants look healthy and everything is good. but i have been readin a couple of threads and these guys are only using a portion of the water. the plants are bigger by so much at this point compared to the last two soil runs. is this a sign of that much more yield? if so why the heck isn't everyone using this stuff. its also 50 50 perlite. 4.2kw

10galls (or approx 45L) for 50plants of that size doesn't sound excessive

"the plants are bigger by so much at this point compared to the last two soil runs. is this a sign of that much more yield?" yes

"if so why the heck isn't everyone using this stuff. " i've not worked this out either-

good luck

You might want to research Cal Mag+ it helped me with my curling and twisting leaves.....Coco has been known to need Cal Mag+.

on another note it sounds like your watering like you should, it seems like your plants are just growing fast and healthy and NEED more water. This is a good thing. If they were soaking and wet still everyday then you would cut down your watering. But like I said it sound like your plants like getting watered everyday, if they are big enough already in week 2 then shit your gonna have to up the water intake more and more as they fill in with buds.

Coco and perlite together would make the medium dry out extremely fast, so it makes since with bigger plants in 2 gallons that they need water daily. The faster they grow the more water they need, the faster they dry out the faster they are drinkin/breathing easier, the more the are drinking and breathing and growing faster allows them to uptake more and more food which pumps them up. Coco is the shit, it is working for you just like it should.

Coco allows the medium to be able to breathe better, instead of letting plants sit in soggy soil for a day or two Coco growers should be having to water daily, EVEN MULTIPLE TIMES throughout the day. It's obviously more work, but we reap more benefits such as fatter yields, quicker growth.

Any pics??

Just curious, what kind of nutes (and additives) are you feeding and what input pH ?

DONT MESS WITH THE PH. I AM USING BOTANICARE PRO BLOOM. KARMA. AND CAL/MAG. THATS IT. SOON WILL BE ADDING HYDRO PLEX AND SWEET.

Maybe you should check your PH 5.8 or golden on a color test kit. That could help, now that I see your pictures though the edges are curling and that means heat. Your plants may not be hurting though.

Take for example and hot outdoor day. I often see outdoor plants leaf edges curling up cuz its hot, but they are still perfectly fine. If you got decent air flow and those temps are correct, i wouldn't worry bout the edges curling like that.

Thanks Cali

Thanks Cali

I am thankful for your input. Now I just started seeing yellow spotting. I am assuming this is from the overdose of the bloom and I am going to cut it back to the recomended 45ml. Also I think I might just flush with straight water tonight just to get rid of any build up if any.

No, that yellow spotting is the first signs of the deficiency caused by you 'not messing' with the pH, nothing to do with the feed you are giving them.

Get a pH dye test kit and learn how to use it, having your feed in the correct pH range is essential for Coco, it may look like soil, but it is a Hydroponic medium.

Acid requirement is usually 0.5-1ml/L depending on water pH, nutrients and the brand/strength of acid used. Growth Technology's Phosphoric is twice as strong as GHE's Phosphoric/Nitric, you can really feel the difference in the weight of the two.

Never give more feed than the instructions say, Canna say use 2.5-4ml/L but most people seem to use less than that....

Good luck

Dude in my opinion 60 ml/ a gallon is way too much, I use the same line and i ve learned to only go about 15 ml. On weeks 2-3, then bumb it up to 20 ml for weeks 4-6.5 then flush for about 10 days.. that's for a 8 weeker. My ppms r usualy around 1000-1400 max if u check your ppm level its probly around 2500 to 3500, this is what use... 10 bloom 5 hydroplex . Then ill add 5 cal mag in the later stages or 5 every week or so. I know it sounds simple but it gets me great yields, I also cut my coco coir with ocean forest or black gold. One block per bag. O ya I have used liquid karma, sweet, and hydrogaurd I've found that I don't need any of em.
