Hi guys, just wanted your opinion on this stuff before I buy all this stuff.

Planning to grow hempy, 2 weeks veg -> flower, 3 or 5gal pots?

Already have a 4 bulb T5 with veg bulbs that I'm going to use for vegging (also for mother plants).

About to pick up...

Jardin DR120
Cool Sun 6" reflector
Lumatek 600w ballast
GE Lucalex bulb

Biggest question I have is what to do about fans?

Was planning to run passive intakes -> inside air -> scrubber -> reflector -> fan -> outside air

If necessary I can add a portable AC unit to the tent.

Would a Can33 -> 6" CanFan + speed controller work? CanFan33 is rated @200cfm, with the 6" CanFan rated ~270CFM. Is that enough, overkill, etc?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Looks like a great setup to me.
Your airflow looks perfect too.

With the cool tube and that fan I wouldn't imagine temps to be too hot.

I have a Dark Room 240 wide which is 4X8X7 and I use a 6" 435cfm that intakes through a large carbon filter and runs through my light and out of the tent to vent outside. It almost caves in the sides if I don't keep one of the lower screened vents open while it is on and the temps stay the same as in the house which is 70 in the summer since my wife has MS.
I would say that you picked out the right setup for your tent. Better to have a little too much air flow then not enough. You can always turn it down a bit with the controller if you need to. I like to keep lots of air moving myself.
I hung my carbon filter and fan from the ceiling of the tent and that works great. Go to Lowes and get a 6" rubber clay pipe fitting to attach the fan to the filter and it really cuts down on the vibration noise.
Here is what my setup looks like>

hey Mist, thanks for the reply. Do you have a pic of this 6" rubber clay pipe fitting you speak of?

I'm about to pull the trigger; I updated/upgraded a few pieces and others (like the filter) I don't need just yet

Sounds like a nice set up.

Are you going to post? and if so, why don't you run some in 5 gal and some in 3? see what you like.

1000w also works fine in the dr120 w/ a 6" elicent, as long as you another fan in charge of scrubbing the tent. So a 600w should more than doable as far as cooling, although with the dr120's footprint of 4x4feet, you would be at 16 square feet. Giving you only 37.5watts/square foot with the 600w, compared to 62.5watts/square foot with a 1000w. Though I am sure you'll bring in some nice harvests either way you go.:joint:

I ended up with the DR150w, bringing me pretty close to 50/sqft (47.5 or something IIRC, I don't remember the measurements exactly)

I'll be starting a journal guys, probably be coming online after the 4th. I'm gonna run half the cab with the babies I got in 1 gallon hempies, and hopefully run the other side DWC if this bene bucket thing works out. If the dwc doesn't work out it'll be a perpetual SOG every 4 weeks

Actually with the dr150, you will be at 25 square feet, since the tent is 5'x5'. So assuming you went with a 1000w, you will be at 40w/square foot. This is still pretty close to the 50w/square foot mark:joint:

Here are a couple pics of the coupling. I got it at Lowes in the plumbing department(I said HomeDepot before, but corrected that). It is made to join clay drainage pipes. It is a little bit bigger than the diameter of the 6" fan and filter flanges, but with the built in heavy duty clamps it tightens down really nice and holds both the fan and filter tight enough that there is pretty much no way they will come loose.
Oh yea, it costs 20 bucks but is well worth it imo.

That rubber coupling is a good idea - I'm thinking about changing my setup to filter->fan->vent
Right now I have filter->vent->hood->vent->fan

Anybody know the difference between the two? I'm just doing okay with temps - cant have it any hotter

I used to not have to worry about smell so never used a carbon filter till this grow which had to be total smell stealth. I was told it was better to pull through the carbon filter and that way also kept the glass in your AC hood cleaner.
My setup is- filter>fan>hood>out through wall and up a conveinant plumbing chase to the attic. Hole was already in the wall from previous person fixing tub plumbing in adjacent bathroom. I though "Oh how handy", LOL!

The DR150W is some 4'8" x 2'11"x6'7" IIRC with a 600w = ~44w/sqft by my calculations
