Spacing and container size for SOG

I wanna give Sea of Green a shot. my last grow turned out like crap cause of some BB blue cheese fems hermied on me and I did not catch soon enough.

I wanna give blue another go cause my chick really likes the smoke. I grew 8 on a 2' x 4' grid. I only got 1/2 per plant and they finished around 3 feet tall. The lower branches grew into each other and created such a dense canopy the only good buds was from the main cola.

So hers my options for there alloted spot (2'x3.5') in my room.
18 plants in 7inch rose buckets (1.5 gal) or
28 plants in 6inch squares (1 gal)

I use canna coco with H&G nutes hand watered so the 18 sounds like less work but i dunno what would yield better.

Just wanna get a nice amount of blue cheese for my girl why I am going through the fun of find my c99 momma

If you want less work go with 18 but I personally would go with 28, your already hand watering 18 whats another 10. If your doing sog be it 8 or 28 you gotta trim a section of the bottom off as not enough light gets down there & the buds end up be a waste of energy.

Depending on strain veg for about 1-2weeks from clone or just straight into flower from clone if you have one that gets tall. After about 2weeks flower go in there and trim the spots that would not be able to reach the light on the bottom. Do a search in the grow diary section for SOG so you can see how some others do ther sog.

Ive been checking em out seem most are hydro rest are soil.

if you water everyday go with the one gallon, you dont need that extra half a gallon if theyre going to finish at 2 ft

coco plants dont shed their oldest leaves like a potbound soil/soilless plant. just keep it moist.

ive got 36 under a 400hps+250 HPS hand wateriing is murder but the shit has to be done...

all 36 are in 1ltr pots.(2ltr pop bottles cut in half) some have bcuzz coco and some canna..you can cram more under the lamp if there in pop bottles (you can get away with smaller pots &coco)..flip the light as soom as thay root, plants will grow about a foot (depending on starin)..trim the lower shoots in first week of flower and you will end up with 1big bud on each plant ....
in theory. 40 cuts under 400 hps = 10gram dry bud off each plant = 400gram dry bud = 1gram per watt = good going ......

ive got some blue cheese in my SOG.. ive been growing it for the last 18 month or so (Mother plant) ..i love the stuff... props to Big Buddha
