narutonut... I have a big air pump 35w air stones in each bucket. I think i am going to flip my light tonight. I am pretty much at the height i want to be before flipping. I am going to add my 1000w nextgen digi... and i will be on my way to some nice buds.

the thing i dread the most is the water change out. I really didnt think about that when i set it up. I will do what i have done before and pump the water out of the buckets. Now besides the bloom nutes is there anything i should add to help the growing process. Just looking for a little advice.

What ferts are you using? I use GH 3 part, Sweet, Liquid Karma and during flower I add Kool Bloom. The mix is producing nicely. Changing out the water is the bitch in DWC and that is why the Lucas Formula add back method is so popular. I personally am looking at a redesign on my system with basket drains and ball valves on every bucket. This should make emptying way easier then it currently is.

i was using gh powder nutes for grow. and i am going to change to advanced nutrients sensi bloom. I have not used it before but i have seen someone else use it and they got pretty good yeilds. My last go i was using the gh 3 part and a few other things. but i am going to try something different this time. I am doing a little research on additives for roots and it is hard to decide on what to use. I was thinking of advanced nutrient root zone. as any one ever used it and did it work. I am thinking of adding some piranha as well.

ok so i did a water change out, and changed out the light. put in the 1000w and i hope i dont have heat issues. i added in the nutes and i also added in some floralisious plus and i will have to get some other things to add in after i do a little more research.

That Floralicious plus is a good additive. You will notice that it will discolor roots and funk the res up a bit. Use it sparingly to start and increase little by little. I actually swapped to Liquid Karma recently instead but they seem fairly comparable in effect. Keep up the good work I want to see those ladies go big.

I hear you Narutonut.... i want to see them go big to. This is the start of the flowering cycle. the light is off for the first time in weeks. I am looking forward to some dense nugs.

I am on day 2 of flower. This is the part that i hate there is never anything to look at when you flip for about 2 weeks. all i am going to see is vertical growth for the next 2 weeks. The other part i hate about the whole thing is i have to adjust the ph again. when i finally had it nice and stable. I added sensi bloom A and B. and some floralisious plus as well for the roots.
and i was thinking of adding some sensi cal mg mix bloom. I will have to take new photos and post later.

Just to caution you on the mixing, all PH adjustment should be made after the nutes are mixed. If you don't do this you risk a big problem with your nute's ability to be available for plant uptake. Second and I know there are people who do this all different ways but I think most DWC users would recommend using veg nutes for the first 2 weeks of 12/12 as it is still just vegetative growth as you said yourself! Please remember this is not criticism just my 2 cents of investment in your successful harvest. PS we want pics!!!

here is what you are all waiting for. I finally took some pics for you all to see what i got. All is good i thought i would have to worry about the heat issue with the 1000 watter. But i am doing good so far no curling of the leaves.

I think i am going to hit my local hydro store and get some silica. Has any one used silica from advanced nutrients. if so any advice on it. anything good or bad about it being in hydro.

Energy efficiency is what we all strive for well i do anyway.

No i'm not using silica at the minute might do on my next grow, i was dubious because silica to me is the stuff in my boxes of trainers and its says DO NOT EAT!! lol

I think its does something within the cells and tissues like adds a layer or something and basically helps improve several different factors but i can't even think c02 is one lol
again it's gotta be of use on our quests?

ok so I flipped my light on 5-27 this would make it day 5 of flower. They are just starting to push out hairs. now i have a question and i am sure i will get the same answer as everyone gets. but i am going to ask any way. On a few leaves they are starting to get a little brown on the leaves like they are drying out but they arent. Now i was thinking maybe co2 burn. they are still soft to the touch. they are not brittle either. I will post a pic later i just didnt have time to take one. The only reason i think of the co2 burn is i have a fan blowing right on the plants and that is the only thing i can think of.

so i made it down to my local hydro store and picked up some silica blast and cal mag plus. i have never use either one they are both from botanicare. I am just looking to make the environment as good as i can get it. I had yellowing of leaves last grow and i am sure it is due to low calcium and magnesium.
