That's not good...

That's debatable, Because if he wasn't high and had only smoked a few times or whatever, then will he enjoy reading that book as much as he would as he was high, will he be as involved in the book as he would be if he wasn't baked?

I don't think so, This rule deffinately works for me, Marijuana for me makes the good things in life a little bit better, it makes me get involved and concentrate on something that I have to do more because I am high, and yeh I manage to smoke everyday 2-10 spliffs, on weekends or a day off it can go higher than that.

I understand you may think it be bad that he needs marijuana to survive or function normally, Which may not be brilliant but i'm pretty sure that in the long run he will benefit from it, Even if it's only once. But if he benefit's from being high, and enjoy's what he's doing and enjoys smoking then he's a winner in my eyes.

Another problem that some of us have, is that the small minded pettiness of the average person that we have to deal with out in the real world annoys us. Smoking a couple before engaging in that world can be a real benefit and allow us to be more patient with them, less in their face about how pathetic their attitude is, and help us not to carry it with us for the rest of the day. Weed can act as a "average person" jacket, protecting us from the results of interaction with them.

That's quite interesting, I have been thinking about something similar to this, I seemed to have come to the conclusion that marijuana makes you think, we all know that, It makes you analyse things which will make you think about other peoples mistakes and as you say they may have a pathetic attitude, but you only realize that due to weed, So it makes you feel like you are having to deal with them as you are. As movingtocally said 'it's that the smoke allows you to sink down to the level of the everyman in average discourse' It is all due to marijuana and nothing about you personally as even though you may not think so you probably make the same mistakes as the people you are talking about that have this pathetic attitude and could be viewed in the same light as these individuals.

I've probably waffled quite a bit but hey, let's hope someone can at least get something out of that para.

it makes me get involved and concentrate on something that I have to do

hell i got my university diploma by studying high.

When i was sober i couldn't concentrate cuz lots of bad shit was happening in family , .

So when i smoked i was concentrated more and i studied with much more ease.

It took the stress away and this way i could focus.

I did the exams sober btw.

And i was always third in my class , sober classmates where jealous that i got more than they;)

Am I the only one who gets wound up by "jobs worths" or the housewife who now works and thinks she's the bees knees for doing so? Doesn't anyone else find it easier to tollerate these people after toking before leaving the house? And what is it about thought, that makes everyone feel that there is no one around who is better at it than them? When somone runs faster, lifts heavier weights, earns more, peeps accept it, but if someone ever dares to suggest that they can think quicker, more clearly or more accurately, there is a real and immediate knee jerk reaction to it. People have varying abilities, we all have things that we are stronger and weaker at, and not everyone out there in the world are logical thinking individuals who are happy and keen to help.

I think we can sort of find a medium on slightly different terms. I would say that cannabis allows for more empathy, with the end result being tolerance at a higher level. It's more about being intuitively aware of other peoples weaknesses, and having a more apt ability or willingness to put yourself in the shoes of others. That can sometimes result in better socialization.

To that we can probably agree. I just find the notion of fancying oneself to be in a position of "dropping down" to the level of the commoner a bit gross. If only I could slow down my mind with cannabis as to relate to the common intellect, shall I find bliss. eewwwwwwwwww.

I have to agree with GMT and others...

I smoke much of the time, depending on how much I have on hand. A nice warm blanket of comfort to help keep people from getting under my skin. I'm an irritable curmudgeon much of the time when I don't have a nice buzz going, at least in dealing with people. I won't say that it gives me more empathy... but it does allow me to tolerate more than I otherwise would.

Things are just a little nicer, the bad things don't matter so much and the good things are easier to enjoy. Irritation seems to be a little more... detatched. It has to make it's way through that warm fuzzy blanket of smoke, by then it doesn't matter as much. I can function perfectly well at my current job while high. My thoughts may take a more sedate path to their destination, doing a little sight seeing along the way... but I take that all into account and it doesn't really impact my performance.

And yeah, GMT. Those Jobsworths tend to get on my nerves too. That sort of attitude generally makes me want to do bad things with something sharp to them, if I ain't had my tokes.

A perfect example of what I'm talking about MTC, not once did I say, or even imply what you keep placing in my mouth. I have back tracked to see where you could have got such a notion from, and to demonstrate where I believe you made the error I will ask one question, is a bullet proof jacket worn to turn a person into a bullet?

You might want to familiarize yourself with the posting rules.

You are not allowed to post info about PMs or Rep.

This is a good point, and I think that it is exponentially better to smoke to get these effects than to take something like adderall or an antidepressant.

If you didn't "they" would.

I am just speaking from personal experience.

However, "neg rep" is such a stupid concept.

Flowers are unique, people are also, and so results vary widely. I have an extreme memory, weed helps me focus and forget stuff I don't need to remember. If smoking friday effects you monday, you are a light weight.
