One plant, two pics, day 11 12/12. First one clearly shows female preflowers avec les pistils, what does the second one show? Calyxes? Or maleness?

Sorry, I really hate having to post idiot threads like this.

pluck em, and keep your eye open. I've had plants show a nut in early flowering and then go on to make really nice sinse. You've really got to pay attention to it though, chances are it's herm, but it wont hurt anything to give it a couple more days to figure itself out.

So if those two balls had a couple of hairs in them, would that make it a Calyxes and that meaning a normal female?

once in a while a hermie will hermie cause of other reasons (stress temps, light leak) you fix the issue you fix the hermie... also sometiems a plant will only throw out a ball or two and if you watch you can pick them early and she wont grow any more balls.... got to watch....

Eating hermies and males is totally gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it is gay. Just so you know.

I see absolutely NOTHING male or hermie about that second picture.
Give it more time for the pistils to come out of those preflowers as they've obviously younger than the preflowers in the upper photo.

rule of thumb when looking at early flowers or primordia

Shaped like a tiny football = probably female, but wait for pistils to confirm it.
Shaped like a tiny fist = 99.9% positive for maleness

Too late, hehe, she's gone.. but thankyou!

After I posted this thread, the plant started producing little clusters of the things, rather than single ones, so I pulled it.

Zipped myself in my tent and spotted a blatent light leak through the exhaust ducting, which is now solved. Thought I'd sorted it before flowering, but clearly one layer of black duct tape isn't light proof! :wallbash:

Not the end of the world, I've got a clone of the plant above so I'll run her again without the stress. Fortunately the other plants in the flower room don't seem affected.

A quick question.... If a plant turns out to be a hermie, and you isolate it in a flowering room for itself, will it not make sterile seeds ? Meaning, you'll have some Sensimilla to come ?:joint:

clusters...yup male flowers. If on a female...hermie.

Nope, it will just make more seeds which will carry that hereditary hermie trait in it's genetic make-up.

The word sensimilla quite simply means non pollinated buds, or seedless in other words.

???

Pic 2 is 2 classic male preflowers. No room for any argument either, it is also clearly stalked and has a crossover top and no white hair.

Classic male preflower...argument ? Moot point at this time, but...

stalked ? I can't see through the main stem like you apparently can

Crossover tip ? the sepals of a preflower calyx can look crossed just before the pistils grow out of it.

My point was to wait a little longer to see IF pistils would appear or IF it would express itself further.
The thread starter did that and found it forming a cluster of male flowers.

LOL, yes, my x-ray eyes ! .... well, it is on the RHS one that [I think] you can see it rounds down to a 'bottom' and there is 1mm of 'stalk' at the base.... 'I think'... I see your point and you are right about there being no point in hastily jumping to conclusions.

I think I am a bit affected by having to chop so many of my beauties in the last month.... not too fond of male preflowers right now :)
