Welcome everybody, Sup im Cork, UK Grower!:dueling:

Well seemings as i have to decomishion my 250 cab, im running back to the real micro.

But first i have to do some mods to her.

[X] Decomishion the 250 cab:frown: - Done..

[ ] Buy 2x 120mm 110cfm 12v dc pc fans
[ ] Make 2x mini carbon filters from Vent terminals
[ ] Mount 4 x 20watt cfls
[ ] Add 3 80mm 12v dc pc fans for air circulation
[X] Completely relightproof cab. - Working on.

Anyway, after spending some money on getting a 250 cab together, gotta take the blooming thing down! (should be back at around oct ;) ) So im going back To my micro cab, For afew weeks this might be on the construction / revamping of the cab.

My micro cab is 22inches tall, 14 x 14 inches wide and deep, 1.3sqft or 2.4 cubic feet.
I intend to vent the cab by 2 120mm pc fans attached to 2x terminal vent DIY carbon filters, back on an old DIY scrubber, sombody used somthing like these, put the pantyhoes around it, ziptied, filled with activated carbon, then tied off the end, so these are small and 2 should be effective enough (i hope!)
Heres a pic of them, they cost £2 each, so these scrubbers are going to be VERY cheap.

Edit; Link to what style micro filter im making is here;
http://forum.grasscity.com/general-indoor-growing/273604-small-carbon-filter-diy.html

Im running an old 70watt hps floodlight, probably at about 5000 lumens, and 4x 20watt cfls which putout like 1200 each, so ill have a pretty even light spread, Hoping the Cfls kelvin temps (2700k) will be a real help in addition to the HPS.

Im going to have 3 80mm pc fans about the place blowing most probably on the bulbs, 1 on the hps, 2 blowing at the cfls, to keep the temps down, (mind you, 2.4 cubic feet, with 220cfm in fans, (well maybe lower because of the scrubbers) could be potentially changing my air in the cab 1.5x a second:yoinks:)

How am i going to grow this time round? Hmm? Well ive tried Scrog, with another bash i know i could do ALOT better, But i like being able to hand hold my plants, So im going for a Dr bud style grow, But running 9 plants in the area (with the bottles im using i could fit 16, but thatl be way outa hand)
The bottles are 3 inch diameter, theyre square, and im cutting them to 6 inches tall, so they will be holding about 900ml of soil (32oz)

My Strains? Well, im going to run 2 strains, One is a very dark leafed, purple/red stemed Grapefruit smelling bagseed, looks to be VERY indy, could almost go as far as saying Almost pure indy, Ill get some nice pictures of her up soon, Hoping shes going to go purp during flower, If she doesnt, no biggy, aslong as she keeps her heavy grapefruit Smell, Ive Nick-Named Her "Purple GreatFruit" Ill be running 4 Clones of her.

Second is getting gifted to me by a generious ICmag member, The Only And Only.... UK Cheese (Exodus Clone) Im hoping for her arrival in about 2 weeks if all goes well!:woohoo::woohoo: Ill be running 5 Clones of the UK Cheese (Now you know why i said i hope these DIY filters work!)

From reading other UK cheese grows, i want to sample the different Highs of the different pull times stated by growers, so some will come at 60, some 63 70 and 77 is probably the longest id leave her, i real want to experience what cheese has to offer to me, and select my chosen pull date.

So i havnt got much else realy to say, ive got quite abit to do, have to transplant alot of my 250cab to some outdoor plots, then ill be working on the cab, Hopefully shes going to be a micro marvel!

Thanks everybody and im sorry for the lack of pictures, ill start getting some up ASAP.

these strains R hella cool. also I am now and in the past have grown the cheese clones.

the cheese buzz and buds was out of this world. I grew last year both in the great outdoors and in indoors under 345 watts of cfl lights.

she tasted like I eat a whole block of super super stanky cheese.
by far the weirdest and nicest tast I have ever smoked.

the high from 1 fat bowl lasted around 2-3 hours.
the buzz whiped my ass. and left my body kind of numb.

also cheese was great for playing video gaming. well for me it was.

also when growing my cheese plants both indoors and outdoors they wanted to streach when they r in veg.
and the christals they get is out of this world crazy.

well this is my 2 cents. and what happend when I grew the cheese bud. :)

I wish you good luck mate!

I like the idea of pulling the plants at different times for different highs! Let me know how it works.

Keep us updated!

Looking real nice Cork144, i also like the idea of taking them @ different times, nice plans(if you fail to plan, you plan to fail). One sergestion is, if you get too much drag from your diy carbon fillters, stack another fan on each existing fan, this will reduce the drag getting you closer to 110cfm per fan, but only if needed..

stay safe

Thanks mbiggs, how you doing man? :respect:

yea if it comes to it i will double up the fans, but im hoping the cfm wont be cut down any lower than 80..
Gonna go read up in the design forum about the ventalation again, double check what cfm i should be having for my space:chin:

Thanks for posting UniXx, luck taken man!

Othernews, one of myolder bagseed plants is starting to show sex, looks to be like a female preflower, shes currently being LST'd, hoping shes gonna be a big lst'd bush outdoors.

Thanks Igrow, taken mate :respect:

repotted "PGF" (Purple GreatFruit) into one of the 1l containers im using, need to see how these bottles are gonna work at growing plants, gonna want to take some clones soon too.

if these bottles dont work so well, i think im going to get 11m sq 12cm tall plant pots, 1l capacity, 9 will fit in the cab:dueling:

My last white widow fem seed, which got topped, grew one of the tops first off regularry, now its gone triafolite, funny thing is on of my other widows did the same thing but when LST'd, 2/5 ww from GHS semi triafolite? Strange.

smellyest bagseed in my cab has just shown to be female, theyre still in veg, i find topping promotes show of sex in alot of my plant cases :chin: anybody else find this?

Shes 4 and a half inches atm, roots are spreading into the new soil, so im going to be checking her height every 2 days to see how fast she grows.

Well the 70watt hps is currently running.. with a 120mm pc fan and a 80mm pc fan acting as my exhuaust at the mo.. and a 2nd running directly onto the bulb.

Not adding the cfls yet, temps are 27.1 - 27.7 with the 70w hps and the 4 cfls will prob run me to over 31C.

Plucked all of PGF's fan leafs.. some people dont agree with doing this.. but it allows ALL my undergrowth to get light, which will produce my clones faster(dont worry this is a one off thing to encourage her to bush out).

Having some problems with some plants in this compost mix... the leafs sorta discolor in the middle, going to a browny grey and the leafs start going yellow.. doesnt look like an N def to me, PH might be out of range... the old soil mix i didnt have to monitor PH at all.. so a ph pen is going to be on the way soon.

Yep.... PH it! And they also seems to be a little bit overwatered, at least what I can see from pics.

Keep it up!

There's only 1 Original, and you needn't go to GC to find it. :smoke:
http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=1622790#post1622790

I'm actually running about a 1.3ft2 cab myself, though only 110 watts (2x55) fluoro.

Looking forward to seeing some results.:canabis:

sup pig, i knew it was posted on icmag somwhere, but i was using gc before ic and saw it on there... its a great micro design man...

Edit: But unforciantly i have fell inlove with the mesh pots on sugar bears topic, browsing around ebay, found a mesh cup 10cm tall 8cm wide and a mesh cup 8cm tall 10cm wide, so ill have a 1cm (3/8") layer of activated carbon, gonna go add all the prices up, thatl be 2 stacked 110cfm pc fans btw

going to come around £35, with the pc fans being about £24 of that.. Make a removable cap and itll be refillable, should be able to build it to a nice quality filter too.

Don't worry, it doesn't hurt my feelings. It's all about whatever works for you.

I only came up with my design because I couldn't find net pots that nested the way I liked. All I could seem to find were tapered cups that fit into straight ones. If you put a tapered cup into a straight cup, you have an uneven layer of carbon which will result in an uneven flow of air; more air will be pulled through the thinner part of the carbon layer while less air will be pulled through the thicker carbon layer making the whole thing rather inefficient.

I was going to make a micro version of my original SunScrubber, as I have before to great effect, but I wanted something much simpler to make for micro purposes.

Babbling on.

There's nothing wrong with a little dairy now and then.

these are perfect cylenders so it should be all good, i wont be scrubbing from the ends because theyre flat metal, which im going to use to my advantage and use bolts to hold the entire thing together, so itll be pretty solid.

Just accoured to me, in most of my posts, ive never actually realy shown much about the cab, well there isnt realy much to show but heres afew pics of whats going on.

Panda film rolled back

My seed plants, dont intend on ever flowering these girls, clones are the only things that ill be flowering

UK Cheese is now in the post, along with 2 cuts of powerhouse (c-99 x Deep chunk) so im going to have a very varied garden.

Oh almost forgot to add my lighting setup atm, its only the 70watt hps, waiting to get the scrubber in and see if i can still cool the 70 then add the 80watts of cfl, it might only end up being 40w of cfl.

picture.php

70watt hps, reflector was from a 250watt floodlight, its bent into the shape of a batwing. (dont worry ill be tidying the wires)

Bodged the light trap from panda, parcel tape, and an old fast food tin, inside is black outside was entirely white untill i made some mods to ensure it didnt restrict airflow, tempsonly rise about 1-2C than without it, doesnt entirely block out the light but how much it does it amazing, once the scrubber is built it will be lightproof anyhow.
(FYI in the picture it looks like the light is very close to the light trap, its actually about 10cm away but the angle makes it look unsafe)

Going to be flowering in 1L Red Rooster drinks bottles, 15 holes in the bottom, and they look pretty cool and i cant wait to see some plants budding out of them:woohoo:

Probably going to run 9 clones first, 3 Cheese, 2 Powerhouse, 2 PGF, 2 From another random bagseed (incredable veg stench, has female preflowers, very very strong weed smell)

defo need a carbon scrubber soon!, thinking about making 2 and only running 1 fan on each, so the air gets pulled through the carbon abit slower to ensure odour gets killed, gonna be a very stinky cab soon

Anyway i hope you all take care! Thanks for reading.
