Just wondering, im off to NIMBON/MULLIMBIMBY and been told to bring seeds back as theu are meant to be supurb.
I was wanting to know from anyone with expierence or know how i should go about this....?
where would i find good seeds in that area?

You are kidding? You get pretty average pot in Nimbin unless you know someone. As for seed you could be getting anything. Better pot grown around the Bellingen are imo.

Hi OBG, that is very nice of you, however i dont want to place anyone in that obsessive compulsive position! i think ill give the boo or the bay ago.

Ive been reading another thread seeds in oz, and there are mixed reviews on places, which is the best? the boo or the bay?
and another thing, what is the worst thing that can happen in australia if your seeds get intercepted by the dreaded customs!!!!!!!!!!

Id have to agree with ossama there , theres not much seed that you will find good in those parts and you will still pay top dollar for what you get .
We went there one mardigrass and had to admit we were embarressed to see folks ripping other folks off with $50 seed packs of questionable and unknown genetics , we decided to give our seeds away for free to try and make up for the others .

Its easy to take advantage of the uneducated or naive , but it doesnt make it right ..

The worst thing that can happen if your seeds get intercepte3d is that they will inform the authorities , seems theres not much they can do about it , though they will keep an eye on you after that .

The customs report finds like that to the authorities, though its not worthy of a bust, it is fuel for later should your name arise again .

I personally know of someone who did get busted because he ordered seeds online. It would be highly unlikely but it does happen.

I am not sure if you are better off ordering online. I have been disappointed with 90% of my seed purchases. I finally have good genetics but I had to trawl through a lot of average, overhyped varieties to get there. Strangely, the most potent plant I've grown in the last decade was from bag seed. If you find a seed in a bud that you've enjoyed smoking there is a good chance you will get a nice plant.

God I miss the days before seed banks.

2 thumbs up to the seed banks. Do some surfing/reading and get beans from the respected seed breeders. So much easier then 7 months work for a garden full of hermie's. Hat of to breeders like chimera.

Funny you mention Chimera. His Mountain Jam is my favourite strain and one of the few I haven't been disappointed in.

Before the seed breeders I simply used to grow seeds from my favourite pot each year and I rarely had any problems. In 20 years growing I had 2 hermies. These parasites would have you believe otherwise.

Fat freddy, if you have any strain reccomendations they would be appreciated.

My fav for the last few yrs has been gf x bb. For the more commercially minded and for ppl who get a bit jittery when smoking, i'd suggest mental floss. If i can figure out how to upload some pic's, i'll show you 1 done outdoor. Chimera gave me 4 different strains to try, prob about 4 or so yrs ago, those 2 are the only one's of his i'v run outdoors.

My folks bought a farm not far from there and its just sad, seeing what happens to tourists.
They get taken to pay for expensive habits lured by the reward of fresh mountain pot.What they buy is usually last years moldy stringy crop of half strength rubbish worse then what you get up in the big city. Go into the bin and speak of a seed purchase, now just watch them dreads jump all over you for a $200 payday. Any seed and you`ll never know untill you try em and by then you are a long way from there.

Nimbin seeds are really crap! The only competitor in the Cannabis Cup there worth his salt is Mullaway. If you can find his seeds then you are lucky. They are all nice and plump, not little. Look for Clever Man or Plantems mist - but I bet you won't find any...
Also, there is a seed swap at cup time, i got some sweet tooth, white rhino, skunk and kali crosses there 2 years ago...just keep asking around, and if you have a joint in your hand it might help.
