What's new

wtf? sulphur defic? :(

I am very sad about this whole thing, i really hope i dont lose some of these moms.
Several weeks ago I noticed a strange yellowing in patches/splotches almost on a occasional leaf on some new growths. I cant remember what plant i saw it on first, maybe the Chem D. It wasnt to bad so i didnt stress it to much. Over time i noticed it starting to show on more and more strains.
A good friend of mine who i respect very much as a grower, came over and he thought i should bump up my nutrients, as i have been feeding at half strength.
This seemed like it fixed it for my Chem D, and at first it seemed like the Albert Walker was doing lots better...
However, now it seems like the AW is doing AWFUL, as well as my larry ogk cross.

After looking at the sick plants sticky thread, i figured it was a sulphur deficiency. (this was weeks ago) So i have been feeding with epsom salts. Not sure if this is helping or not, but now i almost think i may be seeing overmagnesium on one of my OGKushes, and a OGxAfghani

Anywaze, enough ramblings. Here are some pics.
Im hoping these pics show enough so that i dont have to go into detail about my whole setup and nutes and all that

Sour Hog

Chem D

After bumping nutes, all the new top growth looks good on the ChemD

LarryBerryOGK *super f*cked up top growth :(

Socal MasterKush just starting to show on some lower branches

Top growth looks otherwise good

Albert Walker looking really f*cked up:wallbash::mad:

Green Crack just starting to show

OGK over magnesium??? looks like it needs mag. But ya, im pretty sure i went to strong on the epsom salts. This OGK, and the same OGKcutxAfghani are the only ones showing. I have other OGK's that look fine

that is pretty weird. plants look really healthy otherwise. i would say a S deficiency too. it's pretty rare though. don't think it's S toxicity, if i remember right, that leaves you with smaller stunted leaf size and necrotic tips on those leaves. they don't look that way to me.

you've been doing the right things to treat S def. though and it still hasn't cleared up. i could possibly be an iron deficiency. that was my next reaction. i think iron moves pretty slow in the plant. is your pH good? i imagine it is. the plants look really health otherwise but something is locking something out. how about foliar feeding with an all around micro nute fert?

kinda stumped. good luck.

Thanks for the input 12gauge.
Another weird thing is some other strains are completely fine with no signs of it whatsover.
Another thing to note, i was combating powdered mildew and was using zone+penetrator and i guess zone has high ammount of sulphur in it. So ive basically been foliar feeding with sulphur in a way.. I also thought, that i started noticing the yellowing on my chem d, shortly after i started using the zone+penetrator. I didnt really put two in two together until now.
I still think its a sulphur toxicity based on the input i got from a few people.
Ive been using calmag, epsom salts, and zone+penetrator = LOTS of sulphur, and have been using calmag for a LOOOONG time, and the epsom salts for over 4 weeks probably.

Also what would necrotic tips look like?

woah those look crazy..healthy, just yellow. i've seen sulphur def. before an it looked alot like the albert walker there.. but my instant reaction was iron def. as well.maybe try a higher does of iron ? just a thought...best of luck man. nice line up btw.

ya ive been feeding them with calmag and epsom salts for a decent while now, everything looks perfectly healthy other than the total discoloration :(
Im pretty certain its sulphur toxicity, but farkkk. I have no clue, and it is really worrying me.

very similar issue to mine... Im having some issues coming up with what it is.

Some say its offgassing others from the bug bomb some say nute issues... Its quite disturbing as im already behind from remodeling.

for sure zone+penetrator, then epsom salts and calmag. Im certain this is what caused this. After flushing for the past couple weeks it has gotten much much better.
A few days after that post things just got worse and worse, and i thought the affected plants were gonna die. But they slowly started to recover, and some are now looking nearly fully recovered.
Im convinced it was sulphur toxicity...

O ya and i use foxfarm growbig, liquid karma and calmag for veg... Always real light on the growbig, and every once in a while i use some bigbloom as well. I have been vegging using this with great results until i went to nuts with the epsom salts
