lollipopping autoflowers

interested to hear if anybody has done this with autoflowers, and what the best methods would be. i think single cola's would suit my narrow area. hope somebody can help

What do you mean by lollipopping? I am guessing you're refering to pruning? I have never tried it on AFs.

I am familiar with pruning.

What exactly are you trying to achieve? Just a central cola and no small popcorn buds or lower branches? Go for it man, no ones stopping you. Who knows how it will affect overall yield, atleast you wont have popcorn fluffnoogins though.

Don't forget that if you're grinding the bud then it doesn't matter weather it's from a main cola or lower "popcorn" buds. Grind and vaporize, it's all going to get you high in the end.

I am interested to see what happens here, please keep us updated on how this turns out. I will run my own experiement with a few of my next batch in my perpetual SOG, I will have at least 16 females flowering so I can do like 4 lollipopped and compare the weight difference between them all.

im not doing it for yeild, i grind my bud and smoke it through bongs so not fussed if its a cola or popcorn buds. i just think a lollipopped plant with 1 single cola will take up alot less room than a fully bushing beast with fan leaves all over the place, if ya get me lol. probably 1 to try!

Thus alot less yeild. AF's don't produce much anyway so why cut off the popcorn? Thats taking away from a your potential yeild.

the plant will compensate and the energy that would of gone to the popcorn gets bypassed to the main bud. plus if your doing a micro sog the extra space would be a plus...the question is how long will it take to recover and how will the af take the stress.

Your more than welcome to go ahead. But doubt you will see any gains from it. If you want smaller plants to help with space issue decrease your root ball size. You may eliminate top growth but really its the rootball that matters.

Regarding lollipopping...It is my understanding that pruning is something you want to do a month before you flower.Pruning diffuses floral hormones,so flowering will be retarded.If heavily pruned shortly before flowering,you will set your plants harvest back by a week,as it my take up to a month or longer for the hormone levels to get back to what they once were.I suggest trying it only on a few plants and compare the results side by side to see exactly what happens to an autoflowering plant.My guess is that pruning will not be of any benefit,but please get back to us when you have some definitive answers.

Nino, I lollipop and prune from the bottom up. I do it about three times over the course of flower. I never top. Seems to work for me.

RD,I was not saying plants won't grow...just that it is not optimal to fuck with the plants on a hormonal level as it will retard their flowering.They will still "work" but will finish a little later than they would have.Try for yourself and see.
