worm casting tea ?

hi guys.
i want to make EWC tea.

i have sea kelp,worm casts,humic acid and carboload .

i grow 10 feminized plants in 11 Litre pots and they are first day of flowering . :joint:

1 ) how much Worm casts tea do i need for 10 plants in 11 litre pots ?

2 ) how often should i water my plants with worm casts tea ? with every watering or is only one time enough to inoculate beneficals ?

3 ) how can i use this tea ? should i dilute it ? how much should i use for per gallon ?

4 ) i know i need to bubble all those stuff with some water for 48 hours.but how much should i use EWC,Sea kelp, water, carboload, humic acid ? what is the ratio ? ?

PS: i grow in LC's soilless mix # 1 . i use bio bizz organic nutrients.

thanks for your help .

I make it 5 gallons at a time. I use a veg guano tea very third water and i use ewc tea for the other two waterings. During flower i water with hi phos guano tea every time. I usualy have extra ewc tea that i use in the garden every third day when i wip up another batch of tea. It is a never ending process.

Also mollasses is way cheaper and just as effective as carboload. Save your kelp extract for your feed day. Mix 1 cup of ewc with 5 table spoons of mollasses. I put it in a nylon. I then fill a trash can with five gallons of water. Hook up an air pump and a bubble stone to oxegenate the tea. shake the teabag really hard for about 1 minute. let it brew for atleast 24 hours. i then take the bag out mix up the tea one last time and water. Use all the tea by the next day.

I would add more than one cup. Typically one cup EWC/gal is used for seedlings. You can use more than that. Try 2 cups per gallon. There's a ton of info on this subforum about EWC tea.

also, i responded on MP about this.

yes that should be fine, just make sure you use an adequate air stone. I use either the 5in round ones...or the 14inch tubes that you can shape any way you want. Or i sometimes use them both, just depends on what all i have going on at the time.

as for the pump, i use a 20-60gal dual outlet pump that i bridge to make one outlet.

5 Gal. = minimum 0.25 CFM; high efficiency 0.4> CFM

Most aquarium pumps do not put out this rate.

Most home brewers in this realm for some reason have indeed latched onto using aquarium pumps to brew aerated compost tea. Most commercial or small farm growers have learned that these are not efficient. There is some unfortunate instruction which was given by some in this regard. It is generally accepted that to make a good quality aerobic ACT that the dissolved oxygen (DO2) should be maintained above 6 PPM. In tests I ran the previously mentioned rates of open air flow were the minimum and efficient amounts necessary to maintain this level of DO2 over 12 to 24 to 48 hours with compost and foodstock (e.g. 0.05 & >0.08 CFM/gal.) If you are brewing for only short periods (e.g. 2 hours) you can use a smaller pump but you would generate more DO2 by stirring with a stick. If you go to Wikipedia and look up compost tea, there is a link; 'So You Wanna Build a Compost Tea Brewer' near the bottom which instructs various techniques. I have used an aquarium pump to brew 2 litres.

mate,you are right .

1. You can't have too much air! Most homemade brewers aren't pushing enough oxygen to maintain good levels during the brewing process. One or even two aquarium pumps, typically isn't sufficient. Our extended life motor pushes 51 liters/min at 1.5 psi. I would consider this a minimum for the inputs that we use, as our original system provides even more aeration (though the motor has a shorter life span and is also noisier). If you decide to use aquarium pumps, I would send one or two directly into the bottom of the bucket, using glass bonded air stones or a coil system. Then, another aquarium pump should be pushing air directly into the mesh bag containing the compost.
but the cheapest way is aquarium pumps.

can you give me a sample pump link for 5 gallon buckets ?

for instance , is it ok ?

what kind of air stones should i use ?

Sorry, I'm short on time and have posted on this subject numerous times. I'm not permitted to post my URL but gave you a roundabout way to find it; tons of info on making a brewer. Between that, the info from Tad and some math you'll figure something affordable.

just get a big aquarium pump, works for me. although id admit, i really need to get a high power one. i like doing stuff the right way.

If you must go the air stone route, get glass bonded ones.

The link you posted on ebay was expired and I couldn't view it.

Feel free to send me a PM or post another link to a pump if you want any assistance in sourcing one.

Good luck!

Either buy CT Guy's air pump which is guaranteed to aerate a 5 gallon bucket, or this one 50watt pond pump.

http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategories/1024/High-Volume-Air-Pumps

Which is less $ than the k.i.s. pump but I doubt it will last as long ( I have both). I run both in a 32 gal trash can. I have sold my compost teas twice now for 5 bucks a gallon to a couple growers, since I'm the only one they know who can brew a lot.

What are the flow rates on the aquatic eco pump you listed? I didn't see them on the link...
