illegal search and seizure

The guy is an adult...exactly why he shouldn't be selling from his mothers home. If she is the owner of the house his consent doesn't mean shit. Same reason you need to be careful in a rented home. Once the landlord says it's ok your pretty much done for. Like JJscorp said, they had a warrant because he sold to a god dam undercover. Believe it or not most cops aren't as stupid as you might think. They are going to cover their asses 99 percent of the time, and they have alot more ways to cover things up than you. Also, did you recieve any charges? And if not, why are you trying to go after the police? Sounds to me like you should let your buddy deal with his own problems.

they violated my constitutional rights. thats a big thing. what if i had had personal drugs in it. or a gun in it. they got into my car knowing nothing was in there and knowing it was mine. they were even trying to tow it saying it was bought with drug money. and again THEY DID NOT HAVE A SEARCH WARRANT they had an arrest warrant. read before you post.

We are reading, and some of us have been down this road before in person, paying lawyers etc, having the same thoughts as you. I understand your frustration, but trust me, you are going to get jack shit about them searching your car.

When arresting someone, they have a right to search certain areas, secure evidence etc. Your boy had your car key in his pocket. They could claim they believed he hid evidence in there.

I was detained illegally, handcuffed, etc for hours before a warrant was issued. Basically I was kidnapped. There wasnt shit I could do about it. Sue the police department for damages. What damages did you suffer from them going through your car?

Landlords cant give the police the right to search your residence. That is your home and you still have an expectation of privacy. However the mom lived there and its her house.

Cops tried to tow my bike, took it for a joy ride, did burnouts, etc, then got real sad when they found it, it was registered to someone else

The sooner you learn cops get away with a bunch of shit, the better off you will be.

COPS CAN DO WHAT EVER THEY WANT AND THEY WILL! None of you kid yourselves about that! I have heard this "do they have the right to search" question so many times. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR RIGHTS!

And this myth that you can refuse to let them search is bullshit! Refusal is admitting quilt to them. I have seen people detained for 2 hours while they got a warrant and once they find something, all your rights are out of the window.

Only the courts and your lawyer can argue about your rights!

It is best to stay off the police radar.

Good luck with everything!
