I hear Nevada may legalize before California?

If that happens I may consider moving. Even though it's a bitch for a couple months out of the year, southern Nevada is warm with few weather systems.

OK, so further evidence that CT sucks balls!

We've got some of the strictest pot laws in all new england. Can't even get decrim it's starting to look like.

And ME is doin this?

Anyone notice the penalties for up to 100 plants there? MAXIMUM 1 year in prison!!! I can do that shit standing on my head, lord knows I have before.

So fuck CT, ME here I come!

All the best,
TG

The more, the merrier! We need some fresh blood up here, just try to have a job lined up before you move here. It's a beautiful state but the employment opportunities are limited, and the cost of living is relatively high.

That was practically legal! lol

Wow, not bad at all; I could see these kind of laws influencing people investing a fair amount. How much jail time is that class?

What makes cost of living high?

Mostly the taxes. I remember reading how Maine has the highest per capita taxes in the nation. That was one of the primary arguments in favor of passing TABOR iirc. I feel bad for the people that bought a cheap home a decade ago and are now being priced out of it because of property tax valuations going through the roof.

It also doesn't help that we are pretty much at the end of the supply chain for most consumer goods. I've noticed things tend to be more expensive here compared to elsewhere.

But it is still a great state, and I wont leave unless I absolutely have to.

My folks used to drag us kids camping in Maine back in the late 50's and 60's. Then I married a woman descended from ship captains and lobstermen in Maine. We visit the state a lot, and in fact will be camping on Deer Isle in mid August. It wouldn't take much to get my wife to move there when we retire, like maybe 10 years. We'll see what happens. Amazingly enough, looks like there's a reasonably good chance NYS may pass a medical marijuana law this year. And after watching Marijuana Nation on the National Geographic channel Tuesday night, how much longer is this gonna take?!?
