3X2 Cabinet/enclosure grow, 600(?) W, DWC, Blackberry kush

Hiya

This is my second(ish) indoor grow.

I built an enclosure for this grow for certain reasons. The measurements inside are about 3'x2'6.25' high. The rez I'm going to use is 35 gallons. Hope to do DWC again since it worked out well.

Strain is blackberry kush, 3 clones. I'm hoping to put them under a 600w light, but I'm unsure if that's too much for this space? I don't know if I can use a cooltube due to the fact that they're only 4' in diameter and i'm not sure of how much airflow I need. I'm hoping to keep it sealed except for a passive intake or smth. Not sure of how i'm going to set up the airflow in there as of yet, but hopefully I'll work it out over the next few days.

It's just a simple box made of 2'' X 4' boards and plywood covering the enclosure. hope to set up some sort of lockable door soon.

That's a 105W cfl on there now.

suggestions welcome!

Oh, and what do you guys think I should do for ventilation out of the following two scenarios?:

I'll be using a carbon scrubber on the exhaust of either one. What'd be the advantages of each?

Awe, c'mon, post up some suggestions :p

Got a bit more done. I used some foam expanding sealant to seal offf the cracks in the frame, and covered the inside with poly. Still need to add my locking door.

Got them in their final reservoir as well, and used lava rocks.

Glad you gave the BBK a good home ;) I vote for the second scenario because if you attach the carbon filter to the exhaust only one fan is needed. In the first case it looks like you would need a fan to cool the light and another to exchange air in the chamber and scrub odor.

Hey SoEx, I would go with a 400w instead. 600w is a bit much at 100w per sq ft unless you plan on growing tall plants. It can be done but I think you will be battling heat issues. I would go with your second senerio as well. Fyi too, cooltubes are 6 inches in diameter if getting a store bought one. As a suggestion make sure you do your research on the proper intake size while accounting for bends/light traps in the ducting. You never mentioned anything on what kind of fan your using as this will make a huge difference on proper ventilation.
Btw, I would scrog those three BBK's if you can to fill out the whole cab. Hope this helps.

I just picked up a 600W light... I'm going to try using my aircooled reflector before trying to build a cooltube using a pyrex bake-a-round.

I know I might have a few issues with heat but hopefullly the fact that I am venting into another room will allow the plants to not be too hot.

I am going to go with the second secnario, hopefully.

The intake fan will be a 4'' MUFFIN XL 24V fan, 110 CFM.

For the exhaust I'm trying to find a fan in the 150-170 CFM range. Hopefully this will give me some negative pressure, and hopefully it'll be enough air moving through the aircooled reflector....

I'm going to be taking 3 cuts and filling the other 3 sites as well. I was considering doing a SCROG as well, but i'm unsure as of yet. just hoping to get them large enough to take some cuttings.

I'd stick to 400 as well. 600 is a lot of heat. (D'oh! Gotta learn to type faster ... oh well)

You'll want your cab intakes as low as you can get them.

If you run plan 1, the cool tube needs no scrubber, there's no cab air in that run. Drop the two holes in the middle to the bottom of the cab and punch a new one at the top for cab exhaust and filter.

Plan 2, Lower the middle hole and punch another at the bottom.

Don't know that you need a cool tube but, it sure wouldn't hurt and might help keep DWC temps down.

Wee. Well my old homemade reflector may be sufficient. right now I have everything jerry-rigged up with old fans temporarily. The reflector does not have any glass yet, but temps around the plants are in the 78 range. Of course the light is as high as possible, but hopefully the glass will allow me to lower it.

Wee.

Update and three image periods.

First is starting off, plants recovering nicely.

Second a bit later, few leaves are twisted due to the high ph. Plants moved a bit too close to the light.

Aaand how they are currently.

What do you guys think I should do in terms of more training/scrog? I'd like the left plant to catch up to the other two, and I'd like to fill up the canopy. But I really need to start flowering now, as this is a great height currently and gives me approximately 2' of additional growing room max.

Anyone got suggestions?

Thanks for lookin.

Put a screen on the ladies in an attempt to get the left side to catch up to the right. Should I throw 'em into flower and let all the branches come through at thispoint? I have about 2' max extra of room atop the screen at the moment.

Plants are looking healthy SoEx. Great work. That Blackberry cut has a lot of potential. I'm eager to see how she turns out for ya.

looks good id say switch it to flower, you don't want to run out of room. better to have them a little shorter than overgrow your cab, just my :2cents:

I haven't updated in a looong while.

I switched to flower ~4/10? I have some updated photos, but even these are about 2 weeks old. The plants are doing marvelously!

Older pics are from 4/19, most recent are from 4/29.

Sorry some of the colors aren't great, I got super lazy. I will take better pics soon.

Overall pics (older to newest), then close up pics.
