A little powdery mildew near harvest- what can I do?

I have some og kush that is getting a little powdery mildew on the leaves. There doesn't appear to be any bud rot. I tried spraying it with green cure a week ago lightly but that didn't kill it off apparently. Now that it's harvest time, I've tried to cut off as much as possible. Is there anything else I can do other than water curing? I tried that once and the buds looked crappy once they were done being processed.

Can't help you with this crop but, I had PM once and the cure was to strip the cab and wash everything in a 5% bleach solution. Otherwise it comes right back. Sorry. :badday:

pm sometimes stays with a cut/clone, the ONLY thing i have found to get rid of PM is Dutch Master Gold Penetrator mixed with Dutch Master Zone, applied as a foliar spray... it got rid of a NASTY pm problem for me... everyone kept telling me to lower you humidy and it cant grow.. BS my humidy was between 32-38 the highest was 40.. still PM like a mo fo... as for cut and dry/cured bud dunno all i can say is i have bough lbs upon lbs of cali here covered in pm and just smoked it with no ill effects... but some peeps got sick so its ur call

thanks for the suggestions guys. Any other suggestions. Next time should I run a sulfur burner a few times during the grow? Would that help?

you need to spray those leaves every day with greencure. Not all of them just where you see the pm. Try not to get it on the buds, but it really won't hurt. Untill I do a clean out and complete spray of the room maybe with that stuff christen was talking about, it's the only way to keep it from spreading too much. It can get bad quick.

you can run the burner... just don't burn a lot of sulpher for too long a time. just a little bit (like 2 tbs) for 2hrs. that should knock it out. if you are worried about any residual sulpher on your buds (which there will not be), for precautionary measure rinse them off w/a spray of plain water a day or 2 before you chop them down.

folks may say i am crazy for suggesting burning a little sulpher for a little bit late in flower. i share this advice as it was shared with me (and worked for me!) by a very highly esteemed member of our board. just a dab. not a huge sulpher vapor blowout.

of course if the thought of burning the sulpher is too much to overcome, NEEM + Ivory dishsoap at 5ml/L i found works better than the green cure (just my experience), and is also an organic approach. again, if you are worried about left over residues, spray the plants off a day or 2 before you chop.

hope this helps you some

If you are within a week or so of harves,t the milk wipe (Mr Stinky has it on the $$$) will work, less you have a large amount. Too labour intensive. If so as GS said, do the burner just seal your room and have fans off.
Green Cure works but it cannot be stored so make a fresh batch for each use. Spray the undersides as well and drop your humidity as much as possible.
As mentioned by FreezerBoy, do a complete "clean with either a bleach or H2O2 solution afterwards.
Funny side note when I first had it (PM), the lites were so bright I thought "Wow look at that frosty bud!" lol Peace and Grease!!

cool. Got the green cure right now. I also have zone and penetrator. I will get a sulfur burner and go nuts. I was surpriesed to hear that it was about $20 per run with the sulfur burner. They didn't say that you could do less than the whole amount in the package.

I'll keep those up and I also have a spray(I don't remember off hand which one). I'm going on the attack.

So with the greencure, I have to mix it everyday? Bummer...

Not everyday but on each use only mix what you'll spray that day. Its use should be a week apart if memory serves.

Be careful burning sulfur close to after applying Neem, as it can burn or lead to photo-toxicity.... Same with sulfur sprays closely following a neem treatment.

I agree with Greyskull, a sulfur burner has saved me from a constant PM battle, I just take out my flushing plants and place them seperately as I run a perpetual. I also run it for 2 hours a week, only a couple tablespoons each time.

seems every new clone i get from someone has a problem to bring with it... first gnats, now powdery mildew. i can't use a sulfur burner because i use neem, and combining the two can fuck up the plant. any solutions to this that won't interact with neem?

would a baking soda & water spray help with this? i've read that it will dry in a powder on the leaf and raise the ph of it's surface to 7, preventing the mildew from growing.
