11/13 Speed up flowering?

Hey guys,

I have two weeks left to flower out the remainder of a CH9 Jack grow. They are predominantely sativa dominant, and most look like they have at least 3 weeks left.

I was wondering if I could speed up flowering by switching to 11/13 for the next two weeks? (on 12/12 right now)

Thanks! :joint:

yes you can

yes you can

11light and 13dark will quiken maturity

on a similar note 13light and 11dark will elongate flowering

the math is +1 hour per day
13/11 will add a week to a 7-8 week flower cycle

so +1x 50 then add 13x 7days or so ,, that = the total light energy input hours
maybe add 10% or so to the harvest

What will 12/13 light/dark do. I am doing that at the moment to change my lighting times to suit my lifestyle.

Are they predominantly sativa? From the description and grows reports I've seen I think they're indica dom hybrids and shortening the light times will really screw your yield. A better solution is to add more light hours, go up to 13 or 14 hours and you should finish a few days to a week early with no loss of yield, standard practice in many dutch barns apparently tried it a couple of times and it seems to work but i haven't tried it with clones to compare. Shortening should only be done with extreme sativas with equatorial genes.

I have three CH9 Jacks - Two are clearly sativa dom, one indica dom. The indica dom is pretty well done, with about a week of maturing to go. The sativa doms are not anywhere close to done, and appear to need at least three, maybe four more weeks.

I am growing using an interesting setup (below). I have these two floro light bars cinched in such a way as to side-light the plants. This has been an amazingly effective way to grow as these plants only had 2 weeks veg, and are indeed packing on quite a bit of weight!

My time limitation is an unfortunate hard-stop. Hopefully everything turns out nicely :D

12/13 what will that do...?

well i don't think it will do much except confuse the circadian clocks

if you can manage to be organized with syncing the time
and being consistant ,,, then it'll allow for a bit more light energy
but ,,, beware inconsistent lighting does not help anything get better

Robert Connell Clarke suggested in "Marijuana Horticulture" that you could lose 50% of potency by going to a 10/14 cycle instead of a 12/12 cycle. I have my doubts, but I have a hermie in isolation right now, and I have it on 10/14. I will let you know how that test turns out(assuming I am not too stoned and forget...)

can drop it down, 1 hr per day, over the course of xyz days.

so, if 12/12 now, can go 11/13, 10/14, 9/15, 8/16 over last few days/weeks.

if really interested in best of both world, run 12/16, in 6 day/168 hour weeks. same amount of light, more darkness.

16/12 light cycle. math included. may be helpful.

I read a study a long time ago that claimed highest yields were @ 12hr dark while 11 hr dark produced the most resin production. Sometimes I'll go down to 11hr. the last week just to push them over the edge toward finishing.

i cut from 12/12 to 11.5/12.5 saved me $100 and just pumped up co2 from 1200 to 1400 still get same yield per sf

i dont recommend going from 12/12 to like 13/11 or 14/10 did that a couple grows ago as an experiment cuz i read it in one of those marijuana grow guides. only thing that did was make my plants start revegging. so instead of bud i got more leaf.
