How to clean data from photos??

I've spent the past half hour searching on how to erase information from the photos you post and cant find anything?anyone know how its done?thanks in advance

just google your operating system and exif data removal, should find a few options.

If your on a mac though, use "graphics converter", it has a free trial that does the job.

Yeah google "exif removal/delete/strip". I use Jstrip, works great and fast

You can also google "Exif reader" to see the Exif data, then see the results after you strip it.

The exif data contains all the information on the camera, like make and model, as well as what lens was used and a whole bunch of camera settings as well.

Exchangeable image file format (Exif)

I guess the date and time would be the most important data to erase as cameras cannot record location (some expensive high end cameras do have built in GPS) or the name of the user, unless it was specified in the camera settings. Most cameras don't have either of these functions so there really is no need to worry.

You can also remove the exif data in image editors like photoshop by copy-pasting the picture into a new document and then saving it.

Windows Vista has an integrated feature to do this.

Properties > Details > Remove Properties and Personal Information > click on the second option ("Remove the following properties from the file:") and then click "Select all" > OK

Now it's clean...

If you are on a Mac and using iPhoto, just select "Show Photo Info" under the Photos menu to see the EXIF data. As you said, it's just info about the camera and the settings used to take the photo. My camera doesn't have GPS or any other identifying information, so I never worried too much about it. I figure I'm not the only one that takes pictures using a Canon PowerShot, so that info would not be to useful to anyone trying to identify me.

Oops! I mean I use a Nikon camera. Yeah, that's it, a Nikon. And it's definitely not a PowerShot.
