Most of the mods are online friends and we do it for the love of the plant and the companionship.

I spoke with Gypsy the other day on the phone for the first time. It was a very interesting conversation. I can tell you the man is very laid back and mellow. I could have easily imagined I was speaking with John Lennon.... After so long of conversing on line it was nice to finally put a voice with the name...

I personally have never gotten free seeds, although I know if I wanted some I would only have to ask. I am also sure if I were in dire straights I could also ask him for help.
