When was the last time you checked those batteries? What don't have a smoke detector in the grow room? Put it on the Walmart list or the Casa DePot list. It's every bit as important as your other safety equipment.

Because it would not do at all to wake up tomorrow and read about you barbecuin' your sorry ass due to a grow room fire that burned your pad into a pile...:yeahthats

amen!

an entire house burned down 2 streets over from mine,
because of a single HPS and a grower that decided safety was not a priority.

thanks for looking out, bro!

I wouldn't be able to hear a smoke alarm going off in my room.

ha ha same here dongle. Im sure the drywalling and insulation in your op does extremely well to keep the noise contained.

With all the inline fans and oscilating fans I cant even hear the buzz of my ballasts.

I use wireless smokedetectors, bought a lot of 4 for around 400 dollars but i believe it is well worth it. But remember they got to be both optic and thermic.

How far can a wireless smokedetectors go?
whats the point in having a smoke detector if you cant put out the fire. get yourself a fire extinguisher too while your at it hehe

They go atleast 100m in free range, and about 30m inside a house, so using 3 or 4 pr house you wont have a problem with range. They also have different channels so you wont pick up on your neighbours nightly pizza failures. Mine has one master channel and 11 separate ones, where master picks up everything and the other you divide as needed, or not.

As said above here, using one detector inside the grow room that is not somehow(wire or wireless) connected to an outside alarm, is completly useless, unless you somehow happen to be in the growroom when it goes off, but that kinda defeats the point of having the alarm in the first place.

I have 2 smoke extinguishers and 1 firehose, cant really have enough safety even tho i have a rather mini grow.

Not always.

I have removed the batteries from my smoke detectore. The last thing I want is a neighbor hearing a smoke detector going off while I am not here, and calling the fire dept, which would end life as I know it. If I ain't here, I want this bitch to burn to the ground, leaving no evidence.

Now a fire extinguisher is important to have, and know how to find even in the dark. The dog will tell me if there is a fire.

lol, well, im sure you dont want your place to burn down if its not insured? And if its insured you cant rest assured the insurance company will hunt down the cause of the fire with jedi precision, and you can also be sure they will spot those clads of iron that once were ur ballasts(amongst hundred of other items that will not burn during a fire; leading to suspicion; leading to denial of insurancemoney during investigation; etc.). And then your fucked.

:violin: :hotbounce:angrymod:

A dog however is a good thing to have :)

I was thinking more of something along the line of paging me if there is a fire or broken window like house alarm systems can do. but then again I wouldnt want to have any1 come to my house installing something

you can buy simple sms units that will notify you of a alarm, and also you can connect various types together, wateralarm, firealarm, burglar alarm, etc.
