US House and Senate are about (in a week and a half) to vote on bill that will OUTLAW ORGANIC FARMING (bill HR 875). There is an enormous rush to get this into law within the next 2 weeks before people realize what is happening.

Main backer and lobbyist is Monsanto - chemical and genetic engineering giant corporation (and Cargill, ADM, and about 35 other related agri-giants). This bill will require organic farms to use specific fertilizers and poisonous insect sprays dictated by a newly formed agency to "make sure there is no danger to the public food supply". This will include backyard gardens that grow food only for a family and not for sales.

If this passes then NO more heirloom clean seeds but only Monsanto genetically altered seeds that are now showing up with unexpected diseases in humans.

Here's a link that gives you an idea how this can be happening:

To read the bill, you can go to http://thomas.loc.gov and enter HR875 in the search box after selecting "Bill Number".option under the search box.

The name on this outrageous food plan is Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009 (bill HR 875).

THIS IS REAL, FOLKS! PASS THIS ALONG TO ALL CONCERNED ON YOUR MAILING LISTS & CALL YOUR SENATE REPRESENTETIVES TODAY! Get on that phone and burn up the wires. Get anyone else you can to do the same thing. The House and Senate WILL pass this if they are not massively threatened with loss of their position.... They only fear your voice and your vote.

The best thing to do is go to www.house.gov/writerep all you have to do is put in your zip and it will give you your congressperson and how to get in touch with them. When you call their office someone will answer the phone, just tell them (politely) that you are calling to express your views on HR 875. Tell them your views, they'll take your name and address and pass your comments along to the congressperson. The following link http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm is a list of the U.S. senators and their contact info.

Read the whole bill.

nothing about banning organic growing just researching and regulating the agriculture industry to prevent food borne illness or intentional contamination.

the only things it prohibits is the known or unknown transfer of contaminated goods for the most part.

I also read the bill and this is what I got.....only the bit that effects us.. this gives them the right to say how we garden and how we sell our food....Let's just say for the sake of argument I have a small organic farm......This bill passes this gives the government the power to say I have to spray pesticides to control certain bugs...they could also ban lets say guano or any type of high nitrate poop for food production and then you have to use sodium nitrate or something similar...this bill is not about food safety it's about large farms getting the upper hand and pushing the small guy down ...the gov...tells me every thing don't tell me how to farm too....

Now it is going to far to label this type of thing as simply "liberalism at the helm". The conservatives are just as guilty of these type of actions also. Politicians selling out to the corporations is probably the only real bipartisanship in Washington DC.

u have to be joking...those loonies are leading the charge!! these types of controls over the people are the direct result of liberalism at the helm. you can call boxer, feinssssstein, pelosi, obama, shumer, and the rest till your blue in the face... the R's arent much better...

these types of "general safety" bills are the empowerment bills for those who seek to control. the more public outcry for "safer conditions" or "we need a law for safer....." the more power in these peoples hands, to the detriment of our rights and freedoms. this government will continue to slice away chunks of your flesh in the name of "safety and public good", until you either stop them, or they cut an artery... take your pick

one day soon we will have a law requiring everyone to wear a "life helmet"...the backers of the bill will be "Life Helmet co." our gubment will empower the nutjob police to enforce the law by hitting everyone without a helmet...in the head... in the name of safety

Liberal or Conservative / Left or Right

Its both wings of Tyranny.

Anyone who thinks democracy is freedom has been fooled by collectivism.

The people who write these kinds of bill are Collectivists. They are at war with the Individual.

They wish to ban things like Organic Gardening because its a way for a person to be Self Reliant.

They cant stand that American idea of Independence. Because their entire philosophy and life is built upon Interdependence.

Collectivists believe one thing above all other. That the Individual must make a forced or coerced altruistic sacrifice in name of the greater good of the collective.

Organic Food/Farming is a huge industry in the agriculture business, don't worry people there will be millions or more dollars going to stop this bill.
The new thing is to go green, don't worry.
