What about for a 5 gallon Bubbling bucket ?
Adding 5 ml and 8 ml per gallon would kill a plant in a 5 gallon bubbler correct.

Single bubbling Unit.
Anyone have a single plant formula ?

Would it be 8 ML and 16 ML per 5 gallon bubbler unit?

5ml of what? 8ml of what?

The formula is the same no matter how many plants you have. I'm finding it difficult to follow this question.

Would it be 8 ML and 16 ML per 5 gallon bubbler unit?
Please go back and re-read everything you can find on the Lucas formula. You're asking questions you should have already answered yourself.
It's 8ml of Micro and 16ml of Bloom per gallon. If you have a bubbler that holds 5 gallons you would mix 40ml of Micro and 80ml of Bloom into it.

I meant 8 and 16.

Do you add 8 and 16 ml of flora nova Grow and bloom per gallon.
Into a 5 gallon bubbling bucket ? (single unit)

That would be say 80 ml of flora nova bloom for one single plant in a bubbler during flower.

P.S 80 ML of Bloom Seems like way too much for one plant ?

i think hes talking about dwc. and 80 ml means mili leters

I think you're looking at hydro the wrong way. :D Let's see if I can help a bit ;)

When you're using a mix of nutrients and water, your goal is to find the right ratio of nutrients and water that match the way your plant drinks.

If there's too much food in the water it's drinking, it's going to burn and the pH will continually drop. The pH drops because the plant is drinking the water and leaving the nutes. (Stronger nute concentration drops the pH of water, same as adding nutes to water.)

If there isn't enough food in the water the plant starves. It eats the nutes that are there and the pH goes up. (Less nutes, less pH drop)

So if you mix the nutes in the perfect (or close to it) balance the plant will 'eat' at the same rate that it 'drinks'.

It doesn't matter how many plants you have or how big the reservoir is, the nutrient concentration is the same.

If you were in soil and you were going to grow 2 plants in a 5 gallon bucket, would you double the fertilizer in the soil? No, because you would burn the crap out of the plants.

Same with the water in hydro. You're simply providing a well balanced source of nutrients and water for the plant to drink from and it's keeping the drink 'healthy' for the plant that's important. :D

sounds like you got a good grasp of hydro and floranova . You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Hydro-Soil again.

yea hydro soil i give you props for your understanding of hydroponics, even if you grow with cfl lol... nah im just kidding and giving you a hard time. Definitely nice buds for cfls, i use a sun blaze to pre veg and am totally stoked the way the plants look under the t5 ho.

first off amazing thread! the how hydro explanation opened my eyes a bit.. im mos def gonna use the lucas formula with my next recirculating dwc run.. this should allow for multiple strains..

my question is can i back off the ml to sx or seven when im using hard water [300 ppm or less]? this would compensate for the hard water and still feed properly?

thanks

You'll be able to run multiple strains without issues. The only downside would be to run into a plant that prefers a higher pH than others. Either that strain or the rest would not be 'optimal' in yield but you wouldn't have any other issues.

I don't recommend it, but if you're going to try using your tapwater, use the Flora 3-part and get the Hardwater Micro. It really depends on what's in your water (and I don't know anything about that stuff) as to whether it will work for you or not.
Much much easier to use RO water. You'll spend less time hauling it than you would trying to figure out your tap-water. :D

whats wrong with using distelled water?

you get lots of yuckies that will mess with your tds... 300ppm in tap water means 300ppm of what.. you have no idea.. best use a clean slate so you know exactly what your feeding.. otherwise your ph and tds are going to be running wild.... dont take any chances and just use RO... better safe than sorry eh...

NN

** eh meant to quote post above... distilled water is essentially the same as RO... much better than tap water in most cases... just in case.. test pure water to make sure its pure..**

Is there any way to add a humic/fulvic additive to GH 3 part? Preferably something made by GH, I know its not good to mix brands.

I just switched to the Lucas form and I love it. My heads are swellin beautifully. I am in the 6th week of flowerin a couple different strains and I been addin some mollasses to it. Whoever said that it don't work might be doin somethin wrong cause i am a average grower at best and it seems like this formula is taking things to athe next level as far as health, vigor and overall size and weight. I cant wait to see how they perform in my two new 18 gallon two plant bubblers. Thanx Lucas whoever you are. I also add a lil superthrive and floralicious bloom. But thats me La Ghost

GH dose have it. It's call Diamond Nectar. I think Lucas formula you add nothing. It the beauty of it. I never try it but that what what it suppose work out to be. I was wondering what is everyone getting out of the lucas formula? I have 9 plants per 1000 watt in 6 inch rockwool. In flood and drain tray. Dose anyone have similmar set up? I was wondering what are you guy getting per light?

Any more folks that are using molasses with their lucas formula? It is my intention to use the PBP line with this. I keep seeing floranova being the jam with you folks... It'll hopefully work as well with the PBPs. I have used them before in the same setup, so if lucas doesn't seem to work I'll switch back to my old ways...
BTW is the lucas formula essentially not just doing what's written on the bottles?

If you're using FNB...... Almost. GH has pretty much pre-mixed the Lucas ratio we used to use with their Flora 3-part. I wouldn't grow cannabis following the labels on the Flora 3-part series. :D I also wouldn't use more than 8ml/gal unless you're in a 100wpsq or higher setup, even then there aren't many strains that can take it.
The FloraNova Bloom gives the same great results as using the 0-8-16 ratio with the Flora series but the additional organic acids give the plants a softer lushness that's gorgeous. :D

PBP can be used with comparable results as well but you'll need cal/mag+ Look up Lucas PBP and get the tips you're looking for. :D

If Lucas methods of res maintenence and nutrient mixing don't work, you're doing something wrong. It's the easiest way to feed cannabis in hydro that I know of. Doubtful that any method would work if you're having problems following the lucas stuff.

Stay Safe! :D

Thanks for that. HS, you're on the ball!
I have grown POG in 150 w/sqft setups, and I used the bottle recommended 45 ml/gal (I think), which seems wickedly high in comparison to what I'm seeing here (15 ml/gal)... This nutrient stuff is fairly confusing to me still. I've gotta get to readin' I suppose.
Yea, the one thing that I took from reading about the Lucas Formula forever ago was about the res changes every time you match the initial volume in top offs. That always sounded like a good answer to me.

if seeking k.i.s.s. method, w/ 1-2 bottles max...

1 tablespoon of gh fnb per gallon of water tap water. veg and/or flower. no other fertilizer needed, @ all. end.

*if add any amendment, would be blackstrap molasses @ 1 tablespoons per gallon. will not substantially affect n, or p, but will add k, ca, mg & fe; will also feed microbes in media/solution. good chelate; helps plant assimilate electrical charges.

enjoy your garden!

Im just starting out and bought my GH nutes for the Lucas formula. I ordered the hard water floramicro as my water supply comes from a natural spring.
I dont know whats in the water but I get a horrible looking residue in my sink where the tap drips and a black coating in my kettle.
Only wanting the best for my little girls(and me!), I just ordered a R.O. filter too. My question is, will the hard water micro be suitable still or will I need to buy the soft water version?
