I used open sesame and it caused bud sites to pop up everywhere nice and tight.

I still experienced stretching but I think thats a good thing as in the long run those little gaps fill into big ol colas.

this idea is a little out there...

take clones off stretchy seed plants, and then kill the plant and grow from clone. it wont be as stretchy from clone

My Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz, Cha Ching was given to me in sample packs for free. Ask your local hydro store if they have any.

HUH? You are taking a cutting off a plant and creating the same plant. In other words, it has the same genes. Some plants stretch more due to their genetics, some don't. What makes this worse is the amount of light, or the lack there of, environment, etc...
The only logic I see in your post is that since you are taking cuttings that for the most part have tiny side nodes then the plant will have more stems from the get go. But this has nothing to do with "stretchy seed plants". And killing the mom is just plain stupid unless you have to due to space.

Wait...What?

Propagating a plant by taking cuttings will often change the growth habit. It may be the same genes, but its environment got drastically altered

I just used Rainworks Mega Bud and it stopped all vert growth in my stretchy Blueberry Sativa pheno and stacked nugs a week 3 like it was week 6. Best shit I have ever used to stop vert. growth and stack nugs. WAY BETTER then Bushmaster. I used only .5 ml per gallon and it ROCKED!
Check my link the blueberry pics was hit with MegaBud last week and they blew up!

yaknow i cant help thinking you really got it right about one thing - checked out your thread with the bb's <3 scrogging was made for stuff like this, i wonder how much of the normal stretch you could cancel out - so you could scrog in veg the screen to 90% instead of 70% minimize stretch and maximize meds. +k

When I test different veg times when I have a new strain, usually I'll wind up with one or two plants that are going to be too big. I grow in 1:1, coco:perlite, and I have used Bushmaster to stop stretch at 2-3ml per gallon (sometimes more than once if necessary), usually right before a given plant is going to be too tall. I never use more than 2-3ml/gal at once, because I've burned plants pretty bad with higher doses.

I'd recommend it if you don't really have a choice. Although I think I have better quality if I don't use it. The end product doesn't smell quite as good, and the buds get a little too thick (and I have major budrot paranoia).

Also, I use a mixed spectrum in my flowering room, and plants directly under HPS have a stronger response than those directly under MH, and they will burn more easily, so I always raise my lights a bit when I use it.

certain cold pressed Sea kelp reduces internodal distance if applied correctly and timley. I think its the B-Vitamins tha does it. Ive used it for years on and off, just to make sure that there was a difference, and sure enough there was. Nice tight buds, and easier to trim.

I super crop my ssh and the haze pheno is still a stretchy bitch. frosty as hell though. I think I will try one of these additives.

I use bushmaster at 2 to 3ml max a gal for 3 days in plain ro water after flower has started. After the 3 days make sure you start low on nutes and work your way back up. Ive even used the bush up to 2weeks in flowering on a sativa hybrid.

Bushmaster is very nice for us limited space growers but always use WAY less with this stuff and never use on stressed plants, they need to be healthy.

I didnt use anything last go around and the plants kept crashing into the lights. They got so stretchy, they wernt worth much.

So this time around I am going to try the bushmaster and phosphoload on different tables.

Heres the deal. I'll be around for days 1-4, then wont be back till day 10. Can I add the stuff after day 10? from what I read, that should be fine.

How do you run the bushmaster and phosphoload? Do you add to the nutes or do you run in clean water? My normal routine is a veg formula for the first 10-14 days, then switch to bloom nutes. This go around, I am going to go straight to bloom nutes

sunmaster warm deluxe bulbs up to week 4, then switched to sunmaster neutral deluxe to finish, mixed w/ hps.

plants stretch is effect of many variables, including; diff (difference between day/night temps); water uptake; root temps; ambient air temps; vapor pressure deficit.

higher night temps, or @ least same as day temps will stack the internodes. seems stretch is only bad thing when internodes are spaced too far apart, w/ more stem then desired. would raise night temps to @ least 78*f. drop to 70 @ first 1-2 hrs of lights on. they think they had cold night, but actually distributed all of the energy acquired during previous lights on.

mh lamps seem to promote internodal proximity, fruit density and stout structure. hps alone has not achieved density of mh alone. together, w/ low-wattage other spectrums added helps keep plants stacked.

the key is the lag period, or the pre-dawn period, where water uptake is lowest, stomata still closed, and internal clock is about to ring. this is time when plant registers temps, environmentals, hormones, rh, available root water, etc. can influence plant a lot during time when waking up (or just before/after), and going to sleep.

Bushmasters, but by the time you get it, it will be too late. Also if you do get this stuff be very carefull as it can ruin your grow if not given in the right amounts or the right time. I tried it and will never use it again.
bush master is wonderful i dont use it as foliar spray but i do add 1/2 tsp per gal water and top feed soil at end of 1st wk 12/12. this 1/2 tsp per gal water is along with 1/8th tsp podwered koolbloom and my normal ferts
5ml PureBlendPro grow, 20ml PBP bloom. i dont use purple max i dont have any reduction in tric production either.

warning be sure your indica dominate plants are the size you want them once applied they dont grow but a few inchs if that. i had 1 sativa dom that wouldnt stop stretchn even after 4 applications of BM

all in all bush master is good stuff dose what it's designed to do

yamaha_1fan your growen large scale hydro correct ???? because i've never used it in hydro only soil.

purpledomgoddes {can increase or decrease stretch solely by temp manipulation.}
is so very true the less in tempeture fluctuation the less stretch you'll observe unless your grown sativa dominate strains. and even then you can control it some

I have only used the Superbud and Dutchmaster replaced it with Phosphoload now. The superbud made the plants prone to bud rot. And I had bad cases of bud rot for two grows with a strain that I had never had any problems with.
So now I don't trust any products that mess with the natural genetics of the plants.
I say let them grow the way they are supposed to and start them in flower earlier if you don't have have space for big plants or pick a strain/pheno that fits your setup.
Marijuana is supposed to be the "Natural" high. So why would we want to chemically alter our "all natural" plants?
