Here's some pictures of my old tunnel setup. Unfortunately I don't have grow pics from it except for that one because when I pulled my grow a year and a half ago, I wiped my computer of all plant pics except this one i missed LOL. PG has some of those pics, IF IT EVER COMES BACK!!!!! :wallbash:

And here's some pics of a really cheap hydro setup I slapped together a few years ago and used. Bought everything but the netcups at Wal-Mart. But remember, the bigger the reservoir the better! :D

WEEK 6 UPDATE:

Everything is still running smooth. The pH is 5.7 and the ppm is around 1100. 2-3 more weeks for the RS and just under 5 weeks to go on the FC. The smaller ones are at 3.5 weeks in and are beginning to produce some nice little budlets and have just about stopped stretching.

Here's an overview

Here's a couple close ups of the littler ones

lookin good agent smith, keep up the good work. Im liking the tunnel and may have to copy ya some day, but for a total newb I think I'll stick to terrariums for now.

thanks green thumb, you at least are using the basic idea of the tunnel, surround the plants with something reflective, even if it is white, not just leaving it open so light is wasted. Let me know if you wanna switch, I'll help in any way I can :D

Thanks idoreallytry, I can always count on you to comment every week LOL :D

So you are saying i can grow DWC using the lucas formula and RO water (i own a reverse osmosis system) and not worry about PPM's? I have PH strips and drops, and also own pH UP and ph Down, so i am able to adjust these things. Do you think this has a chance of working out? I would love to give hydro a shot.

I have various things i am worried about, cause i have never done it. For example, it gets sort of warm in my grow room, and i heard high res temps are bad in DWC. I would have no way of cooling it, and saying "it'll be okay, don't worry about it" would be making a compromise. Then, how light-proof does the res really have to be? Is there a min. volume of nutrient solution you have to have? How can you keep your plants short in DWC/Hydro? I know in soil it's all a matter of room-mass, which is dependent on the size of the pot.

Sorry I didn't answer these questions earlier, kinda forgot LOL :D

As far as the questions in your first paragraph the answer is a resounding YES! You don't have to worry about PPMs or pH really for the initial res fillup. The pH would just have to be checked every couple days depending on the size of your reservoir. I don't have to check or adjust my pH for over a week if I really wanted to or went on vacation, but that's the good thing about having a big ass reservoir. Plus the general rule of thumb is after the initial fill, you can addback the same amount of straight RO water (i.e. a 100 gallon res can be topped up with 100 gallons of RO) before needing to be changed out. Now I don't even go by that, as it is the old way of doing things. I do the initial res fill, then addback RO, usually 30-40 gallons before the ppm or pH gets out of my favored range and then I addback straight nutes until the PPMs go up and the pH comes down to where I want them to be. Works great and is easy as all hell, and as you can see, my plants don't seem to mind! LOL :D

Now as far as the second paragraph, I gotta break this one down LOL

The res temps could be kept down with some frozen pop bottles. I use four 2-Liter bottles thrown in the freezer every day and I keep my temps in check, I'm sure a couple 2Liters or even some 20-Ounces would work in your case and be fine.

In a perfect world, the res needs to be 100% lightproof, but I have seen people run with either blue or gray rubbermaid tubs and get away with it (I've done both colors LOL so I have personal experience)
On reservoir volume, I wouldn't suggest running less than 2 gallons per plant, but I would rather see around 5 gallons per plant, which is actually what I run at.
And good luck keeping plants short LOL, but no seriously, they do grow very fast compared to soil so you will have to pay more attention if you are training. But all in all, you train the same way as in soil, you could do hurd cracking, topping, or in extreme cases, you could trim the roots to keep the size down.

Thanks NolBC :D

WEEK 7 UPDATE:

Everything is going fine still, all except for the Rosetta in the corner. I'm not sure what the problem is yet but I am trying to figure it out still. It's the only plant that is yellowing so at least I know it isn't contagious......yet.

Overview shot

I love this pheno of the FC! As you can see the main cola is over a foot long and it's the frostiest pheno I have :D
picture.php

This FC is a seperate phenotype but also very frosty
picture.php

This FC which is the plant in the middle looks like it is going to be the heaviest yielder out of them all and smells like Grape Soda :joint:
picture.php

Here's the Rosetta Stone. As you can see, she is yellowing pretty bad but all of her close bud leaves are fine so far. I'll update once I find out the problem. At least she is getting very close to being finished.

And here are a couple of up close shots :D

Yeah, the PG thread is gone unfortunately but the one at Cannacabana should be there and the one at c-w is still there as well and being updated :D
Yeah the RS will be done really soon and the FC is for sure going to be a very satisfying yield :D

I so wish I could smell, but Triiniity says it smells great! :D
