You might need both 4.0 and 7.0 - check the directions. My Hanna is 2-point calibration, I can use either 4.01 or 10.01 and 7.01.

Solutions?

Solutions?

Why is everyone buying all these expensive ph balancing solutions. What's wrong with keeping it simple using products like vinegar and baking soda?

you can use vinegar or soda....but how do you know which is the ph without a meter?....and the calibration solutions aren't for puting it in the soil...but for calibrating your meter ...that it work normaly...than you can use vinegar or soda on your soil....

You need both the 4 and 7 calibration solutions. Unless it states its a 1 point calibrated meter, ( if it is get a 2 point in my opinion)

You need to put the probe in the 4 calibrate it to 4,

Rinse it well

put it in the 7 calibrate it to the 7

Rinse it

Put it back in the 4 and if it is more .2 out calibrate it to 4 again

Rinse it

Put it in the 7 calibrate it to 7

Rinse

Put it back in the 4, if it is more than 0.2 out calibrate it to 4

Always end with it in the 7 and saying 7.0 and at worst 0.2 out when put in the 4 as the ph you are calibrating feed water to is closer to 7 than 4

There is a whole article about in maximum yeid magazine i have, ill see if its on there site and link that to.

All you need to know in that link :D
