Ok, heres the deal

Medium - FFOF w/ added perlite
Strains - GHS church and lemon skunk
Light - veg cab, 208w cfl
Temp - 80f
age - 3wks from seed.
container - .5gal pot
pH - honestly dont check it that often, as ive dialed it in to the 6.5-6.8 range in soil. checked it tonight, and its within range on the 2.
nutes - floranova grow 1/4 tsp per feeding, 1/2 tsp molasses alternating
pests - no pests. that im aware of at least (mites, thrips, etc)

and, the problem. First set of leaves on both showed the symptoms, I was honestly hoping it would go away. The church specifically had some germination issues, namely she was unable to cast away the seed husk, and when it did happen, there were no cotyledons. the first set of leaves did continue to grow.

what youre looking at : the leaves are all healthy as in no claw, no nute burn, no pH spotting, etc. However, there are splotches / speckles of light green. I would almost think it looks like mite damage, except the chlorophyll is still in tact, and there arent any mites lol.

The spots appear slightly yellow as a result of the lighting + flash, when well lit they are still green. The spots on the older leaves have not yellowed either, confirming that chlorophyll is still present.

Its been suggested that mosaic virus may be the culprit, but after some research, it looks like there should be more yellowing if this were the case? If it's not MV, then im clueless. If anyone has any questions or photo requests, let me hear them, cause I want to know what this is.

really, nothing?

Ive manged to find one other case of similar photos, on another site, but no one was conclusive on the cause there either. best guess was viral.

I dont believe its hemp streak virus. obviously.

question is, is mosaic virus always accompanied by yellowing? and if so, at what point? cause yellowing is not happening here. I want to know if its worth culling the plants in question, or if it is something that will only be spread to clones / seed.

Perhaps it's just a variegation mutation thing that it will outgrow. I've had some plants with variegated leaves before, usually they don't stay that way. The leaves won't change just new growth being normal.
Unless you're seeing some other signs of illness.

There is a deficiency that causes that, but I forget which nute it is. Stitch might have it in her thread in the stickies.

i searched the sticky, and nothing jumped out at me.

its more entrenched in newer growth it seems. almost as if the leaves are losing their sheen. there is no leaf completely void of the natural appearance though, and still no loss of green in the "peeled" spots.

and, it may be worth re-mentioning...symptoms were observed from first set of leaves on. there was no point (other than cotyledons) when it was NOT observable.

thats the thing, no other signs of illness that I can spot, I showed the underside of one of the leaves to show the overall health there as well. that same leaf is one of the worst, top-side.

and, its not getting better with age...worse. as in, consuming a larger percentage of the total leaf surface area.

A buildup will be noticed by the outer parts of the plant becoming whitish and or a yellowish color. The tips and part way in on the inner leaves will die and feel like glass.
I think I was thinking of too much Mg. That quote is from Stitch. Well, that's all I can think of and I'm not going to start guessing, so good luck and I hope you figure it out.

heh, thanks.

I re-read the sticky a minute ago, and the closest thing, as far as the damage pattern, is thrips.

but, im 99.99% sure its not a pest, thrips or otherwise. just looking at the pattern of the damage...the discoloration, not so much.
