Xbox 360 Bonsai Set-up

I converted a broken 360 into a stealth grow box. It is completely light tight, has 2 fans, carbon scrubber, and i think like a 45w equiv. cfl. I haven't grown out of it yet, I'm just wondering if there's a lot of people interested in seeing it and maybe a grow/bonsai trimming tutorial or something. If there's enough people interested, i'l get on it, otherwise....I might just go and smoke some buds and forget about it

yeah i'l try to, i only have my macbook for a camera, so it's going to be kinda jenky pics, but fuk it, i'l show pics of it in a min to spark up interest

so....this is just a quicky of the inside. The vent blow air inwards and hit a light trap a made from note cards, sharpied black on one side, mylar on the other. The trap is designed to block all light in and out and to channel the air to the very bottom and very top of the box. I hollowed out the hard drive case and have the carbon scrubber in that. i used an extension cable and a plug-light socket adapter to power the light. I used a 12v ac adapter to power the origional xbox360 dual fans.

i'd admit, the mylar looks shitty. This has been sitting in a box for a year. But I know i can grow a cool bonsai tree out of this. Using lst, i'm planning on just bending the main branches as its growing. I've seen little dub plants grown in smaller spaces so i'm confident this will work. These are weeds man, they grow anywhere

Interesting concept... I had pondered trying to grow in an Xbox 360 for some time now but I always found the price of the console to be prohibitive regardless of how much fun the project might have been.

Excellent proof of concept though! I'll admit the mylar does make it more than a bit tricky to see exactly how everything is laid out in there, but it is quite interesting that it seems such a tiny grow box can be successfully put together.

And GreenMachine, it's quite clear this is a project done just for fun and not any serious concern over yield.

Bigez, could you please post some more details and pictures on the construction of the box and the carbon filter in the hollowed out hard drive? I'd be especially interested in seeing how you install and remove the side panel every time you want to open it for plant access!

Now that I've seen this proof of concept I think an X-Box 360 grow is certainly going on my "To Do" list. I think I might set mine up with PL-L fluorescent tubes though, if for no other reason than to save on vertical height :smoke:

Yeah, I'm going to redo the mylar and adhere some new mylar with spray adhesive. So i can take pics of that process. I'll show the carbon filter in the hard drive too. Basically i just assemble and disassemble the entire case. all the pieces are necessary to make it stealth. Once you do it a bunch it gets pretty easy. I guess this is the long lazy way, but this thing wasn't really a big project to me. It was, after all, just sitting in a box in my old place's closet for a year collecting dust, until recently. My recent closet grow is kinda just getting me pumped for MJ cultivation again. But yeah, I'm unemployed now so i Don't have much to do, so i'll try and get this done tomorrow, well, today, just later today....

hmmm....gunna need at least like 6 people to respond and it miiight be worth my time :p

yeah i'l try to, i only have my macbook for a camera, so it's going to be kinda jenky pics

i'd admit, the mylar looks shitty

so you wanted at least 6people to please you and this was to show "jenky pics" with "mylar which looks shitty"

this was a bad trade :(

but the xbox is a nice idea, go on with it and tell us :dueling:
gotcha ! :joint:

the jenky pics were only for a quick pic to get more interest. If all people are looking at is text, they get bored, and skeptical. My roommate just got back in town with a digicam so i will be all up on this bitch now guys. I just got to go settle a dispute with the power company and then I'll do this shit!

umm....for the strain, all I have right now available is some bubbleberry/northern lights that I'm going to be cloning or if I wait a week or so, maybe some shipwreck. My buddies got a bunch of fruity tasting strains now so i might get something like that, but i don't really have any specific type of strain that is meant for small spaces.
