The most pine tasting strain?

H

Hazeseeker

here's a couple of pics of that pheno BW, taken from end of '07,
used to have more pics but had to delete some to free up space when the old gallery
was up and running,
the buds on this pine pheno were like a sponge - as soon as they dried they lost alot of weight,
taste was amazing

Beautiful to look at Hazeseeker! Same as your other pics in the old galery...

I do not worry about the weight (I am sure it was good) this is all about the taste :canabis:

Peace and stay save

my understanding of shanti's new NL 5 / haze x skunk is that he grew out some of the old seeds (f1s) of NL5/haze, and outcrossed it with skunk to get that punch back.

afaik, no plans to re-release the Nl5 x haze

I have a feeling it was Northern Lights 2 aka Oasis. I remember it having a very piney smell and flavor (like Pine Sol).
I don't know about the Haze x NL 5 that is around now but back in 89 I remember it having a very chemical/fuel smell to it which I believe comes from the NL 5, because Skunk 1 x NL5 from then also had a similar chemical/fuel smell.

What are you going to use to make your bathroom smell clean?

I guess you mean something with a pine smell? Read somewhere here about a small waterfall (dekoration) that is nomally running with water (surprise) and someone filled this pine cleaner in it so the whole room smelled after it. Was it during havesting time? The last thing I remember was someone else guessing it is unhealthy!??

The whole story is, that I bought the weed in the sensi coffeshop in the dam. It was on top of the menu card saying ***** haze (pure or original?? don´t know anymore) with the sub note "for the real haze connoisseur" so it was definitly a haze. So the question is where to find the haze pheno in the sensi strain line! Hazeseeker is right saying it is to be found in Nl#5 Haze. But i hope I do not have to buy two packs... buying one pack already hurts:bashhead:

BTW: If you cannot find it at the boutique or the bay than have a look at hipersemillas.com or growshopalien.com

Shanti did say he was gonna release pure NL#5xHaze amoril, but with NL#5xHaze x Skunk being relesed i'm thinking he made a mistake,
also mentioned a while back last year sometime he was looking through some seeds the NL5 clone was from, but never heard anything after that

hey BW,
i'd say 1 pack will be enough to find the pine pheno your looking for man,
i found it in 2 seeds the last time, along with a short NL5 pheno:yes:

I've been wanting to try HTC pine tar stuff, HTC seems real pro and so does OGbub. Understated greatness is what I would expect out of any of their stuff.

The strong pine sap flavor/smell is awesome, and seems to be a common smell, I'd say 20% of the dozen or so strains I have tried/grown have had pine as the predominant or sole flavor/smell.

The best smelling strain I have grown (by a good margin) was biddy early though. That is some special smelling stuff, I swear I almost got buzzed off the smell alone and I wish I had kept a few grams since now I have a friend who says she can barely smell weed (but she can smell mine :bigeye:)

I once grew cannabis professional's Blueberry, It was the most pine smelling and tasting strain ive ever had, thats pine as in pine trees, not pineapple

pinene makes up the majority of the terpenoids in cannabis.. you can definetely smell the pine in a lot of them... I've had some piney/peppery strains and piney/lemony.

but one thing is important, go easy on the nutes, you don'T want nitrate to build up and mess up the smell.

I was referring to what was said on the MNS forum. afaik, this is the only release he has referenced over there....

Hi All
well done a few tours with Howard and one was 2007 OUTLAWS festival in a place called Darby I think. There I met a lot of Walsh lads, and it never ceases to amaze me how many good growers come from that area...maybe due to the shite weather and high unemployment spurred them on to make their own job where they do not need to kill themselves over, like mining, to have a good life?
Nevertheless the NL plant is the base to so many strains it aint funny. If some one said they never found a keeper in seed coming from the original NL...then be weary of them intensely.
Anyhow we got this one ready just out of coincidence and it is a great plant.Nev reselected the NL from a very old batch of seed in 2004...I added it to the Haze father then selected and crossed it to an impressive Skunk male. I believe it to be something very special for medical patients who asked me for it by the way, and well hoping it does the same for those of you who decide to do it.
I will wait till people grow it before posting a photo from MNS as I prefer to allow growers to show other growers what real plants to expect from the seed sold. That way MNS is not putting fantasies out there before anyone actually has grown it. Can not be fairer and more open than that. Only wish a few other companies would follow suit but why would you expose yourself or invite problems if you have any doubts...is probably their main concerns since most do nothing to do with breeding any more just chemically treat female selected F1 seed, as that is what sells for them.
Any how wish you all the success where ever you all are what ever you all are doing....

and, I was mistaken on the use of the NL5/Haze seedstock, appears to have been strictly NL seed.

edit :: i did find where he mentioned NL5 / Haze...but I do think it was a typo. I cant find it mentioned without the skunk after that post.

which is more potent the NL#5/Haze or the PTK has anyone grown them both?
I've not grown NL/Haze,but I've been playing with the PTK. One would think that the hybrid would be stronger because it has been worked a lot more than the PTK. If you looked through the PTK you might find some strong individuals but most will be medium potency. The smell is PINE and from my limited testing, it will pass this on in some cross's.I think PTK will shine in the hybrids.

Here is some Kodiak Gold x PTK. The picture with two plants is PTK(L) and KG x PTK(R). See the stretch the KG brought to the party? The cross turned out like a better yielding purple PTK with a floral note added to the pine scent.
