Too much PH down, then using PH UP ?

ph shift+availability of nutrients

ph shifting thru range of ph's ok, as long as domain remains ~5.0-7.0. different nutes assimilate @ different ph's, so drifting on +/- within this comfort zone is actually beneficial. soilless mix same as nft/hydroponics app.

hope this helps. enjoy your garden!

for an op like yours, Advanced nutrients Ph up or Ph down is needed.. i use to go through gallons of the down now a liter of the AN down last me a good bit..

fuck dumping 200 gallons of nutes n starting over.. if your worried let it sit for about an hour then add your ph up, i myself have over shot the down and within a couple minutes have added the up.. i use the an shit which is potent and i havent had no ill effects doing this:knocks on wood:

ive done it when i used hydroton and ive done it now using coco so you should be allright homie

Yeah i took Asher's adice and got me some AN PH up today and it is a lot more concentrated than GH. I was fed up with GH blue crap PH up as yesterday i used a few ounces to get my 50 gallon res up a point. I used the AN today on a 15 gallon batch of nutes and it was stronger. Still needed a few light squirts but i feel better about it.

even for a 200 gal res i wouldnt be pouring PH directly into the res.

I have found that with GH PH balances, it usually takes about 1 drop per gallon to raise or lower the PH 1.0

the orange PH DOWN is a little stronger, so if you have a 6.5 you only need a tiny drop.

my res is tiny, only 18 gallon cap but usually filled with about 10 gallons. i try to balance any water to 5.8 BEFORE i add it to the res.

i try to keep my PH balancer usage to a minimum though, its best to raise or lower PH with other solution that may be different. for example, if my res is a little low, say 5.4, i just add a gallon or so of nute solution that is around 6.8 and it brings my PH back up nicely, then after that i check PPMs and adjust accordingly.

Yeah if your trying to ph plain water the GH crap will work, but 1 drop of the GH stuff dropped into 1 gallon of my nute mix wont do shit for me lol

im not a fan of phing the water first as some places have buffers n such so i mix up all my nutes let them mix for a good 30 mins or so then adjust my ph..

I already have a couple gallons of the GH, but next go around I will try the AN.

Theres no way to mix the water first. I could PH it first before adding nutes but that wouldnt make sense. I dont top off or add back nutes. The 200 gallons lasts me 2-3 weeks until res change.

I do let the PH shift. I told my partner we aim for 5.5-5.8 and not to lock on a #. I told anything above 5.0 was acceptable, as it would raise itself back up. The problem is when you really blow it and get 4.0

Guess if it happens again, I will try adding the PH up.
