surprised i haven't seen any threads about this yet...

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A robbery turned into a dangerous shootout at a medical marijuana clinic in Koreatown.
Police said surveillance cameras were rolling as a clerk was forced to open the safe for an armed man.
The suspect cleaned out the marijuana supply and left, but then the employee pulled out a gun and went after him down a stairwell.
There was a gunfight, but no one got hurt.

The suspect ended up dropping the marijuana and taking off.

Just a robbery like any that happens every day at a gas station or whatever, on the surface it shouldn't be 'bad for the cause.'

But it remains to be seen how news/legislators spin the whole thing. It could get reported as 'dispensaries cause crime!' and the clerk is probably going to get in trouble for firearms possession...

If anyone tries to say this makes dispensaries look bad, they're looking at it too closed minded. Like nnnnghhhhgnngh said, it's just another robbery, and in this case the shop owner defended his shop. Wouldn't matter if it was a dispensary or a liquor store, a robbery is a robbery and this one wasn't a case of "good grower turned bad" by involving guns in the picture. This was a case of a legitimate business taking advantage of our right to bear arms, and as a result, he didn't get robbed after all. Cool.

Yep, crap like this that fuels the FEDs parade. I understand their cause, but in reality they have so much money to spend on rebuilding society.........strait up making things illegal does not function. It takes far more than teaching kids how to be good people, then when they hit puberty they think "F off!"

I bet the dude that did it, was on some other drug besides marijuana or under the influence of alcohol...
This doesn't make us look bad it makes robbers look bad!

You mean people are tempted to rob high-value merchandise?! WTF???

Everywhere that has banned dispensaries should also ban banks and jewelry stores too...(No anti-Semitic sentiment intended ;)

I don't understand why people (read: the clerk) want to risk their lives like this. He should have just let him go.

The clerk made a choice that prevented the dude from getting away with their stuff. Good on him. He was probably an owner/partner and had more to lose than an hourly wage...

you assume facts not in evidence a citizen has the duty ot perform a citizens arrest especially if someones life is in danger.the video does not establish if the assailant fired first and the disp employee returned fire, until
they release a report on this, and as some posters said liquor stores get robbed too.

the point is it shines an unfavorable light on the cause, already stated..
plus, if it does become legal one day things like this will be used by gov't
as examples as to why tight control should be maintained..

I hope medical pot becomes legal in texas eventually. You wont see very many of these robberies. When you arm the citizens the criminals dont stand a chance.
