where do i get a computer case?

just wondering where you guys get these empty computer hard drive? cases from. can a person get them locally at a computer store. also i assume there are brand names, the bigger the better...to a point of course . i need to downsize and would like to keep a small mom or 2 in one of these.

Hi dude. The part you want is usually called a tower. Yes a lot of local computer stores should have them, although none around me had large "server towers" which are the big tall ones and not so common anymore. I bought one on ebay, got scammed and it never came

So I went to a store and asked if they had any towers like the huge one they had sitting on the desk of the repair dept. and the dude just said "take it". My faith in humanity was restored.

But yeah, should be pretty easy to find a smaller one for moms. If money is an issue: My buddy scored a working computer off the street. Maybe a Goodwill store? Garage sales? Good luck.

Yes...Goodwill is your friend. I've heard good things about Freecycle, but I live in a small town - so I've never personally dealt with Freecycle.

Check into Craigslist also...

Craigslist. Computer parts store, especially the non-chain ones.
