What's new

1st room. Help....

I have a big change of plans. I was planing on a NGB cab, had it all worked out after countless hours of reading and researching and reading some more of the threads here. Had it all worked out was going to use things from a few different cabs that I had seen here that I liked and would hopefully work together. Had just about everything I needed, but the light(was going to use a 400 cooltubed), Fan(S&P TD150 still might) and the wood. I kept all the receipt's(sp?) so can return what I do not need. The reason I am not going to be using the cab is because Just bought a new house and has a room that is prefect of a grow.
The room is 14x11x7 finished. Think it was just a storage room(or a growroom) in the back of the unfinished part of the basement out of the way(so no1 has any business back there).
As it says in the title have never had a room before so not sure what to do about alot of things.I have always grown outdoors, but to many factors to play with anymore, so decided to have way more control. I have a basic idea of what I want like .....
1. Am thinking of using a 600 Dig.(not sure if should be aircooled) over a 400
2. CoCo all the way hand watered for a bit then maybe a drip
3. A veg. and mother cab inside the room
4. Not sure what size fan to use. Will not be using the whole room just enough for the 600 and about 4-6 girls. Will be a S&P(will the TD150 work? 293cfm)
5. Should I frame up an area with 1x1's or 2x2's for the flower area?
6. White polly on walls or something else?
7. Room has a ac vent not real sure about the ventalition(sp?) Can make passive intakes from 2 diff. rooms.
That is all for now, sorry for the rambling "got a lil caption in me".
I am sure there is more but all I can think of at the moment.
Thanks

Hey mate, that's a fantastic space to have I'm very jealous lol obviously you need space for the plants but having room to work, store and move stuff around in is a godsend.

Yeah you best frame up a 1.2x1.2m space, I doubt you'll need a cool tube but I'm keeping a little money aside for one just in case he summer is too much. I'm finding proper reflective material is a lot better than white plastic but i've no idea how expensive it would be to do a 1.2 squared room with it.

A 150mm fan will be fine and gives you room to expand, you'll need a reostat fan controller which are the same as used for ceiling fans. Passive intakes should be fine.

Any more Qs just ask bud.

Start reading up...as much as possible. Learn from others mistakes, or recognize them when they arrive. All the info you can use is here, just search for it. If you can't find it, ask. However most is still learned with experience.

Don't get discouraged when you make a mistake, we all do. Just make sure its not one of the critical ones:angrymod:
Happy Growing,

Thanks Super, will be very nice just kinda fell into the perfect space.Would really like to not frame up a lil room in the room if I could.

What kind of reflective material would be best and not overly $$$.

I am going Vertical in CoCo for sure so do not think I will need to frame up a space.

Thanks Elite I have been as I have said before I thought I knew a lil bout indoor.. boy was I wrong. I have learned tons in the few months I have been here. I do agree experience is the best teacher.

Thanks goddes I have looked at most of the Vertical threads, have not read all the way through all yet, but am working on it.

Does anyone think the S&P 150 will be enough fan? 293Cfm

You need to enclose the vertical lamp to optimise the light reflection around the lamp, SC size of 1.2 x 1.2m is what most of us use, including Prawn and he runs a double 600 in his

If it's not enclosed the column of air is not so efficient, you're trying to create a 'cube' of light with a tunnel of air moving up the middle, never forget that or your grow will suffer

Diamond reflective sheeting is what I use, much more resistant to the shine rubbing off

Hope this helps

Yep, makes it a lot easier to control the environment in general, just a 2 sided wooden frame in a corner with plastic sheeting as walls is enough. Also without some kind of limits you'll have 5 lamps hanging and the room full of trees within a year lol

Thanks Bush. Well it looks like I will be framing a lil room up then, I was gonna try out the fence around the light(like yours) with a fan blowing up at light.
Where is a good place to find the Diamond reflective sheeting online for not too $$$??

Thanks Super,
I was gonna try and not frame anything up but looks I will be. Prolly use 2x4's to make it strong enough to have the diamond sheeting or so I do not bump it and knock it over...lol Yea that is what I am afraid of, just needs enough for 3 ppl.
