Help! Cannabis Clogged My Plumbing!

So I had my harvest, and as is my habit, I flush the stems and leaves down the toilet. Well, the other night, toilet got clogged (yes, I cut everything up first) and I plunged it and it was OK. I kept dumping more stems/leaves in and it got clogged again. This time, no amount of plunging works. My bathtub is now involved, as it is clogged up too, implying that the clog is farther down the pipes. Tried a snake, but can't even get it to go down. I am afraid to call a plumber, because of what he may pull out of there.
Any suggestions??????????
Is there something I can put in there that will dissolve the stems/leaves?
This may sound funny, but it's become a major problem!

do you have a basement or grawlspace under your home?
If so you should be able to find the cleanout it would be in
the larger pipe 3"or4" and should be on the higher end of it

Put a garbage can under it (if in basement)unscrew the plug be careful it will
pour out fast (eye protection, gloves, old clothes a must)
Let it drain then use the snake

I second this.

The alternative is to rent-a-snake somewhere and snake out the pipe yourself.

Sounds like the pipe already had issues and the large flow of vegetation just clogged it up.

hahah sorry man but WHY are you flushing stems down the toilet??@??!?!?

just put them in black trash bags, and if you dont feel safe dumping in your own garbage than do what i do.

whenever we have to get rid of "incriminating" stuff we take a little drive north to East Oakland and some of America's most ghetto hoods, and we just drop the stuff there or in trash containers we see on the street, just watch for cameras if your really paranoid.

Flushing all that down the toilet just sounds wrong. I am not surprised to see this be the result. What's done is done though. In the future you could burn it first, or just compost it in a worm bin so you can reuse all those materials.

Wait...What?

Boiling water is a "no-no" in pipes. It can dissolve the seals.

[citation needed]

maybe outside of usa they do, but plumbing generally doesnt have 'seals' - copper is soldered together, iron/galvanized is threaded with a tapered pipe thread. cpvc is glued together. All of them can take hot water just fine.

I hope the original poster at least ran the crumbs through a bubble bag before flushing them.

you remember when the volcano overflowed with foam at your 2nd grade science fair and everyone was amazed? it also works on plumbing in a similar fashion and CAN loosen things up down there. future note to self: never put stems and leaves down drain. cannabis is a fibrous plant and, like an even more tenacious version of your wife's hair, it will clog up a drain like no other.

I called a plumber to my business once due to a plugged up toilet. He fixed things pretty quickly, and told me the toilet was clogged with white mice. Any guess on what that means in plumber talk?:yoinks:

Hmmm...but then you are driving around with stems ...could get pulled over.
Imagine getting busted for stems?
I've been disposing of them in this manner for a long time. Just got careless with cutting them up first. Need to get a better toilet, too!
Anyway, I finally got it to go down, with a combination of a snake and plunging. I guess the snake did it's thing.
By the way, the boiling water thing is a no-no. Saw that on several plumbing sites on the net.

That's what the wealthier do to the poorer all across this nation and most others. A good way to know if it happens to you, is whether or not a landfill is in your town...

well if you continue to use the toilet and have problems usedish washing liquid and plunge you should be fine....its lube for the toilet lol

I've had this happen several times. Last time I used Drano with success. I just had it happen a few weeks ago and plunged it. So give Drano a try. Good luck, I know how you feel shit smells, literally.
