Anyone ever vented into a wall space?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the site. I've got a closet that is about 4x4 ft. I have weatherproofed the door and painted the inside white. I'm planning on setting up a 3x3 hydro SOG with 3 plants per sq. foot with a 600 watt HPS. That gives me 67 watts per sq. foot.

This will be my first legit grow (I have grown a couple plants before under flouros).

My question has to do with ventilation. My closet does not possess any walls adjacent to the exterior, so I am considering exhausting into the wall space. Is this workable?

Also, what CFM rated fan do I need for exhaust in a room about 4x4x9 feet? And what two CFM rated intake fans?

Thanks for the help,
Dankeriffic

Bad idea. Your exhaust contains moisture which will be trapped in the wall possibly leading to mold. Through a wall is OK. Into a wall, bad idea.

Thanks for the input. I'll have to exhaust into the neighboring closet.

Any input on what exhaust and intake fans I should use for the 4 x 4 x 9?

That's cool, so the people who live in the house next, or possibly purchase it to raise a family can reap the benefits of your mold spores. I love to grow weed, but if it had negative effects on people, children, families, etc., I wouldn't be doing it. You sound like a real winner!

Ahhh, okay, so it would be a poor family moving in. Gotcha. They are not entitled to a healthy existance like us rich folk. Way to back track on your words as well. Your first post said it all.

if you ask me you sound like a real winner. As im sure you know, venting to the exterior is just non scene. These days with all the regulations for using FLIR and other means of heat detection one would be stupid to vent 120f+ air out a 4-8" hole in the wall of a house. You speak of mold spores like you understand how a plant transpires to make them but yet you over look the fact that his garden isn't even close to enough to produce a heavy set of mold cultures unless he was running it for years on end. The only cases ive seen about mold at lethal levels is when a hole house is turned into a green room. Then I can understand spores starting within drywall, floor rafters and other more drier darker areas moisture can become trapped in and start the life cycle of mold. And even at that you over look the fact that one house on every block is considered a grow house. And 80% of raided grow houses are rental units. And were all not from wealthy families like yourself that can afford to just buy a house. I mean come on.. Like you say you love to grow but do you actually grow enough to render a house unlivable within 6 months? With the way you speak you'd think you would be worried about your dogs/family/self care but yet still grow in your own house? if mold was as active as you think venting outside wont save you. We had some one rent a unit from us a wile back that turned the hole entire house into a garden. We had a 5600$'s in tests ran to ensure the property was still inhabitable and there was only very low traces of allergies in the air. This unit was used for a little over a year before we were alerted that it was dismantled and the tenant was gone to jail.

Keep your rooms clean and fresh. Keep the humidity and temps reasonable. Lots of air movement and you wont have a problem. Do look at a leaf that was soaking in your res that now has watered mold on it and say omg this house must be infested with it. Unless you using 3 bedrooms as nursery's and a hole basement as your flowering room you got nothing to worry about.

Stay safe.
