Hey guys and girls. Please let me know what you would do...
My entire grow of about 30 perfectly female clones hermied at 8 weeks! I ground some up and it was mostly lil seeds and not much bud. Should I let her finish the 9/10 week strain or chop now at 8.5 weeks? I'm afraid there will just be more seeding... Thanks for any help.
P.S. About 2 weeks into flower one of my strains began to show bananas on all of that strains plants. I pulled the whole strain...this may have pollenated all of the rest(other strains) but then why would the ones I left in the flower room hermie 8 WEEKS LATER!?

They do def. have balls...some with only liquid in them, most with small seeds. Anyone ever have this happen?

I'd dry it as normal, sift out the seeds and BHO it. Or bubble bag it.

You'll get a great product but your yield is going to suffer.

You sure you don't have a new light leak or something? Nute stress through some new additive?? Change nutes recently?

You're right that it's odd it would take it a while, same strain.

I'm with HS on this one. Male plants produce THC just like females. Hop on down to the liquor store and buy some 190 proof Ever-Clear then buy a box of gallon size Glad Bags that zip up. Ever Clear makes both oil and hard candy. You won't regret it.

Plants only hermie when the environment goes to hell. The most common reason is a severe nutrient imbalance that is closely followed by light leaks and pest attacks. Check out the entire grow space. Make sure it is absolutely air-tight. Paint the walls, floor and ceiling with KILZ primer and do at least two coats. This "white out" will make it easier to spot pests and other problems.

Check your nutes. How often do you change them out? As a rule, I never let them go more than 21 days because algae blooms will make them hermie as the roots start to die off.

Good luck!

Hey Hydro-Soil and mpd thanks for the help.
Hydro-Soil No, there are no light leaks except for the occasional in and out to check on them but I really only do this with lights out. I've stuck with the Lucas formula the entire time and only added Diamond Nectar and Hygrozyme about 4 weeks into flower. I keep the res. nice and chilled too.

MPD Yeah I know thats an option to boil it up I just didnt really want to have too:( There are def. no pests and the room is brand new paint and all. I change my nutes AT LEAST once a week...I'm paranoid. Hopefully I'll figure it out before I start again...

I'd dump the strain, even if a lot of people tell you they don't have problems with it. Hermies are no joke and, as you've found, can really destroy a crop.

As for the original comment about femmed seed, I find it interesting that a lot of folks say to trip the light schedule and create a hermie, then take the pollen and pollinate a true female to get femmed seed.

Personally I would rather try silver or Gib first, on a clone of a known elite cut, to pollinate another, non-hermed cut of it for femmed seeds.

I'm really interested in pollinating another to make fem seeds. I'll def. look into that. Should I let her finish for 1-2 more weeks or chop? Would you make hash, cook, or smoke? I think smoking it wouldnt really produce any weed so much as seeds with a little weed because of how many there are. Thanks a lot for your input. Greatly appreciated.

If you're intent on getting 'something' out of it, I'd let it finish. It's already done the damage and by letting it fully mature and then curing before doing anything with it you'll have the most potent result. Should be easy to remove the seeds right before making hash from it. :)

Can anyone recommend their favorite/easiest Hash making process? Seems easy but also seems to be a lot of ways. Which is best? Thank you.

Tree guy, depends on how much time you have and your preference. But bubble bags might be the easiest route with 30 plants. Read up on it, there are plenty of threads dedicted to all the techniques.
