haha nah

we are legal buy state law

so were making our bloom box into a dark room
and locking the door. thats all there is to it.

wish us luck as we may be running into problems in the future *knock on wood*

Legal by state law not federal law, be careful and think things through.

I have read posts on appraiser boards where appraisers have discussed turning in reports of grow room activity.

Some say photograph it and mark it as an indoor grow, without mentioning what plants, as long as the electrical, paperwork and apparent safety is satisfied.

There's no real definite conclusion though so your particular appraiser could go either way.

Would you buy a car "sight unseen"?

As long a a bank holds a mortgage, they "own" the house, not the person that claims to be the home owner......it's not his/her house, until they pay the bank. People never seem to realize this until they miss a few payment and the bank forecloses, that's when it sets in on who real "home owner" is.

thanks everyone for the replies

so it looks as if the landlord is coming over the day before the appraisal. We are going to move everything grow related into the box we built in the garage, lock the deadbolt and call it a dark room.

if everything works out with the landlord then I'm sure well be okay.

anyways anymore advice would be appreciated. thanks again

and everyone please send positive energy our way. we need it.
may not be on here for a bit depending on circumstances.

wish us luck

adios

sweet!
You have odor control going for that box, right? :)

If it's a stand-alone box (meaning it doesn't look like it's 'attached' to the walls or anything) then they'll ignore it. If it's secured to a wall, they might want to see inside to make sure you haven't modified the wall behind it.

Just be sure NOT to mention it. Don't stand near it. Don't look at it.
IF they even mention it, give the 'mildly' surprised look and say "Oh, that's my darkroom for developing film"

As long as it's just a locked box they should ignore it.

Interesting thread. We just had an appraisal done on our home about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Dude was in and out real fast. Just basically took down measurements made sure there was no obvious water damage, floor condition, ect. They didn't open my closet doors. My outside stuff was well Outside with lots of "legal medical garden, you are on CCTV, thieves will be reported to Law Enforcement". Nothing was said about it. And I am not worried because I am following my states laws and not pushing 99. Oh and my landlord has seen my garden.

the landlord might want to see everything, and the only thing I've seen was the realtors that take the pics... maybe I just encountered a lazy appraiser, because the other side of the spot wasn't even looked at...peace

Every case is different with appraisials but they will check everything and it would probably be best to move your shit out for a few hours if you can. To comment on this:

"Legal by state law not federal law, be careful and think things through."

While the supreme court has not ruled in favor of Mecial Marijuana, both the president and our Attorney General have set policy at the federal level to not circumvent the state law. If you are following local law then the federal government should comply. "should"

Agreed, everything will be checked. Crawlspaces, closets, garage, everything. There will be no way for you to hide anything.

Maybe large airtight storage bins to move the plants and all supplies into for the duration of the inspection? I have not tried anything like this but it's all I can think of. And of course moving everything off the property would be better. Or just into truck and leave truck in driveway after coming up with some excuse why it is there.

How do plants survive in airtight storage containers this isnt cured dried weed these are live living plants. UHAUL IT! your in veg you got this.

It would only be for an hour or so while the inspection is in progress. Not a problem really, unless you completely pack the space. Heat and odor is your main issue.

good luck man. i say move em out if you can but if you're set about hiding them in that 'darkroom' well... good luck. hope the landlord isnt into photography.

I think your plan is risky. Why don't you move everything out? People have been caught for way smaller things before...

What if the box smells?
What if he gets suspicious?
What if he's into photography?
Why would you keep a lock on the door?
What if he wants to check out the "darkroom", what do you answer if he wants to take a peak?

What if the box smells?
Should have already installed odor-control and checked to see if 2 hours in the box gives off odor.
What if he gets suspicious?
About what? A locked box in the corner that's not part of the 'House'?
What if he's into photography?
Who gives a rats? He's not there to socialize, he's there to do a job.

Read the posts, he's already built a box for them. Not a room.

Yes? Ed Zachary!

A locked box in the corner of a room seems shady as shit to me. If he's going to call it a 'darkroom' I'd think it's a pretty big box. I'd sure as hell ask about it. Just depends on the landlord I guess.

I agree.

The thing about security is; you have to take every scenario into consideration - you can't rely on assumptions.

If the guy would ask about the box, the ball starts rolling... it's hard to avoid suspicion after that. Suspicion gets people caught.

This happened recently to a friend of mine and what we did was what was suggested earlier. Get a u haul and load it up for the day. I didn't read through all of this but caught the part that they are still vegging. Count that as a blessing in disguise.

I'm sure I'm beating a dead horse but the person will come and depending how big your house/land is they are normally only there for about 5-10 mins. The biggest thing is smell, try not to cover it because it's apparent when a house smells like pledge and pot. Get a o zone generator or a couple air filters and run them the day or two before. You may not even need to do all that though since you are still in veg though. If you do though be especially careful with the ozone generator, read up before hand, becasue you can and will get some completely smell-less meds.

Good luck.

??? You obviously haven't ever possessed any items of value or extensive numbers of tools. Locked boxes in houses are as common as stuffed easy chairs. Not everyone has one but they're certainly not an oddity.

i think you guys are thinking about a locked tool chest sized thing. sure thats not shady in a garage at all. I have several. but this guy is gonna try to pass it off as a darkroom? darkrooms are things you walk in, yes?

if this guy is taking pics and measurements of everything... a box the size of a man is something that might just come up in the conversation. i hope you've got lots of photos on the wall of your house. a darkroom that never developed photos would surely be suspicious...

No. I'm talking about a large walk in sized locked box.

As for it being a darkroom that's dumb, why even make it that complicated.

"It's where I lock up my shit." Plenty for any landlord.

Now if it's humming and making noise, that's an issue. A quiet box is not suspicious because it's locked. That's called 'Security'.
