Moving Questions

Hey all. I'm looking for a little advise. I'm going to be moving to a new city about 300 miles from where I am now. I have 4 strains that I really don't want to leave behind.

I'll be driving a rental moving truck to my new location. Does anyone have any ideas on moving with plants or clones?

FYI: The stretch of highway I have to travel is very well known for stops/busts by LEO.

If need be I can just take enough cuttings (smaller and easier to hide) to get going once I arrive to my new spot. My question is how to package and safely move with them.

Any one who's ever moved and taken their plants/cuttings with them can really be helpful with a little info.

I would put them in a cooler and bury them in the Uhaul. Use big enough cooler so that plants on one side and use some thing to keep it cool on the other side of the cooler. Use baby clones for transport would be my advice. Never tried it myself. have fun with the move.

Thanks Lola. That was an idea. I was going to buy a bunch of plastic tubs to transport things in instead of boxes. I could use one for a flat of clones. Or I was thinking of taking my cuts, rooting them a bit then putting them into an empty plastic coffee can or twowith a few holes cut into them for air movement. Putting that into one of the tubs and burying it deep into the back of the truck.

watch out for the DOT stops at rest areas and wieght stations cuz ALL trucks have to pull in and either the the DOT COP waves ya thru or he want to see papers for what your hauling and sometime they make ya open the back doors .i work in a moving co and sometimes our trucks get picked at the weigh stations

put them into rubbermade tubs or garbage cans aand flip 1 on top and tape the shit out of where they connect

I would take clones, and then get them rooted and healthy before the move. And yeah, put it way in the back of the truck, under a ton of stuff. And most important, don't give them any reason to search the back of the truck. No weed or anything else up front. Nothing else illegal. No speeding, full and complete stops, etc...

Take cuts.... tape and/or tie moist paper towel or the like to the base of the stem.... put them in a safe container.... and personally, I'd vacuum seal them... and keep as cool as possible w/o freezing..... IME it's a lot less hassle to deal with unrooted then rooted.... plus if shit comes to shit and you get nailed, they should count it as just herb rather then a plant

You could mail the rooted cuts to your new address just before you leave.

i 2nd this motion lol if your traveling a knowen highway for drug runners fresh cuts with moist paper towel around the base. maybe throw a box a fabric softner sheets for the dryer in there open by your laundry soap and such. i've mailed fresh unrooted cuts n/p so fresh cuts hid properly in a u haul type truck ya shouldnt have any problems

I moved 400 miles and stuck 6 - 4 foot tall mothers into wardrobe boxes (3 per box). That box went in to a Uhaul.

They suffered no ill effects.

But.........if your willing to just take clones then that's easily the safest method.
