battle of the sumos: chronic vs critical mass vs pog vs shark shock

This is an ongoing debate that needs an update as some of these strains have changed, improved, declined, and new players have come along.

The ultimate question: which one of these would you choose give huge yields yet quality bud.

1) critical mass, mr nice - a reworked version of big bud, skunk1 x heavy afghan

2) pot of gold, flying dutchmen - many say great smoke and suprisingly huge yields with the right pheno, hindu kush x skunk1

3) chronic, serious seeds, (nl x sk1) x (nl x ak), massive yielder but its getting really mixed reviews

4) shark shock (previously great white shark) white(black) widow x skunk 1; awsome smoke and big yields with the right pheno

others

medicine man - mr nice, the original white rino renamed

powerplant

various hashplants

sweet pink grapefruit cutting, and back crosses

please add strains, give experiences, even smoke experiences, thanks!

critical mass followed by chronic for second choice

both quality and heavy......but the chron lacks bag appeal on its low odour where as the mass can get pongy

I'm running PP and you can see a flower shot below. this is at 24 days of 12/12. it had 4 weeks veg from clone and its ripening up very quickly indeed, looks promising . I see hairs turning brown already, its very sticky, smells lovely and theres lots of crystal forming... and its spossed to go another 4 weeks.

I've nothing to compare it to at this time though as this is my first time out. I will happily let you know what it yields though.

great replies so far, thank you!

I am not normally a fan of dutch passion but PP really does have commercial appeal for a sativa

the reported THC content isnt all that high (13%) that said.. I think even my dog could grow this without making too much of a mess of it (so commerically it would be very forgiving).. I still need to see if I can fatten up those buds before I can make any "sumo" claims on it... but for anyone who knew what they were doing, you can see that the potential is there given the amount of viable colas... that foto makes up maybe 2 and half plants under a screen

I like Chronic. Critical Mass has always interested me. Double Dutch from Magus is a FAT yielder with a great indica stone. Better quality than most commercial strains. Consider DD.

Trainwreck is supposed to be a yielder, but I havent pulled the trigger on ordering any of that stuff off the net...JUST YET

I have white label power plant - it yields alot...

I Just received 11 serious chronic seeds... these yield insane amounts, and there are tons of pics of the strain on this site to prove it. Only bad I hear is that the smoke isnt the greatest... oh fuckin well, im not smokin it!

also, Williams Wonder by rez is supposed to be a huge yielder - just got a pack of those as well... zoolander claims its one of the heaviest yielding, if not THE heaviest yielder he's grown..

im always on the hunt for the heaviest producing genes...

in all reality though I think if you breed from your own gene pool, THEN will you be able to get exactly what you want..

i am growing critical mass now and it looks promising. here is a photo.

i have some power plant going also, but i just popped the seeds and they are about 5 inches tall... I hear its pretty stable so as long as i get some females i should get a good keeper.

I would like to add nebula. I've grown pot of gold and it does yield well and the smoke is good but my nebula pheno yeilds just a bit more and the smoke is just a bit better.
Also double dutch, not from grow experince but the many great smoke reports and its genetic make up(chronic x warlock)

Critical Mass x Afghan Haze

Critical Haze

From the moment this combination of cult status parent plants were mentioned, a lot of curiosity and expectation was felt vibrating in the MNS camp. Critical Mass (Plant of the Year 2008 in Spain) has won almost all awards possible over the years in many countries not to mention its phenotypes have always, without failure, satisfied more growers worldwide than any other plant produced. It has eagerly been waited for to those growers with several grows under their belt now wanting to try their hand at a practical Haze hybrids. This strain will bring a lot of growers to their knees when they grow it well and the yield will be potentially large. The fruitiness of the CM will compliment the AH male and probably one of the best blends of distinctive flavours and scents will combine to blow ones senses off the scale, but a little more patience will be needed to finish this plant off to its full potential. A perfect plant for most outdoor growing areas of the world such as Spain, Australia, Italy, Canada and USA, but better still for those who are lucky enough to be inside a greenhouse for them growing this plant will be a real treat. This plant will be a must grow plant in time like those including SSH and the Widow family If you get a chance to try something new then Critical Haze will be highly recommended from us all at MNS. The time to finish the earlier phenotypes should be 8-10 weeks with some very worthwhile phenotypes going between 10- 12 weeks. Yields will depend on the style and types of grow however expect 450-650 grams per square meter indoors and substantially heavier plants in the outdoors and greenhouses. This will be a plant all of the commercial Haze growers will be scrambling for as well as anyone who just loves Haze flavoured flowers. Since both parents are being used well in the medical patients/growers world already the combination will make this a plant a phenomena to all that grow her.

IDK where you commerical guys are selling your stuff too, but the customers must not be very picky.

Considering where I am, the only stuff that fly's is any of the Purples (Eurkle, GDP, The purps, Grape ape), any of the OG cuts, Bubba, Master Kush (not the seeds sold from vendors), Sour D, ChemD, Trainwreck (thats actually kind of lack-luster for most), Blue dreams... mostly any elite kush's.

If you were going to order seeds.... Double dutch.

Round my parts very little quality MJ is to be found. Sounds like your in 'Elite'-ville. Don't need elites in some parts of the country to impress!
Not to mention there is very little chance of an elite making it to my parts , unless you consider my pack of SFV OG Kush BX 2 from Swerve an elite!:D

hey Rick, thanks for your input

when one measures grams per watt per month, those monster sativas numbers go down but still,, the quality will be great

speaking of yield and quality, the cheese is pretty good for an elite, many of the others not so much. what would you say one could pull in grams per meter with cheese?

I wish the market offered such quality here, not even close though. where i am I can grow my own or buy crap

as far as elites, that so cal master kush looks yieldy in pics, probably cheese too

by the way Shiskaberry can yield well, if you have a chance to get a cut of the originals not the knock off
