Ever had a plant growing normally go tri?

Hey, I was checking out this years starts this am, which all germed + grew to this point with 2 leafsets/node. Noticed on the 1 that has shown fem via primordial preflower sofar, that the top node (8th-9th maybe) has thrown 3 leafsets (trifoliate).

Was just curious if anyone else has had this happen. I've heard of tri's from germ - some reverting to normal growth, but not like this. I'll keep an eye and see if the triple nodes continue. Well, what's a thread without pics, eh??

These should not autoflower, the fella who grewem last year grew em from clone. They are in veg.

Edit: no sign of flowering, just the normal primordial preflowers...

I like the name Moe Budz Hey MB i had a Sadhu do kind of the same thing, i grew the original mom out and all was nice and then i grew a couple of clones out that i had taken from the mom and one grew into a trifoiate. I think it is some sort of mutation in the gene somehere but dont hold me to it, very mild though if that were the case.

Thanx, glad you like the name. The 'moe budz" you gro, the less budz you pay good $ for...

I'm not worried about it atall, the plant is nice and happy... actually, I'd like it to continue, 3 branches/node will make more clones than 2. The other 3 are looking kinda bally going by preflower but the preflowers are still very tiny... another week will tell all.

Then its an upcan to a cutoff 5 gal and a LST for that plant, to get the branches going strong. Then it'll be time for this puppy...

My North #1 seedling is going trifoliate, but only on some of the leaf sets. It sometimes grows a new set with two, sometimes three. I have no idea why. I don't know what gender it is yet though unfortunately. It's growing really slowly for some reason.

Hey there MoeBuds you should checkout the thread by GMT 3=3 he is breeding trifolate and some quads aswell he should be able to answer any of your questions here is some of my tris

Not trifoliate, but whorled phyllotaxy I think.

Whorled phyllotaxy describes many characteristics, but trifoliate can only describe this particular phenomenon. I personally prefer the term trifoliar. Here's a link to my thread that should answer any questions on the matter.

Had this happen once on a clone. I think its just luck of the draw happening random genetic mutation of some kind.

Looks like mine, 2, 2, then all of a sudden 3. Mine threw a double after the triple, then another triple. She is 1 of 2 chosen females for clone moms, we'll see how she flowers out in the fall...

(all murphy factors aside, outdoor is never a guarantee)
