Is this normal for a bubble cloner with cloneX Gel? Cali Orange!

Room temp is 74°F and water temp is 60°F

Its like snot forming. I can see what looks to be white roots forming inside it but im not sure if they really are roots or some mold or something.

How far should the tips be into the water?

This is my first time doing a bubble cloner.

I need these clones because my only other girls is in day 17 of flower and I want this strain for a long time. Can I take clones from after flower?

Thanks for any help :)

That doesn't look good..... clean that off and check the stem tip, if its soft, brown, and mushy you've got rot. Cut the stem off again above the bad parts, but be careful, you might have some root bumps forming under all that and a simple clean will be okay.

I recommend keeping the stem tip OUT of the water, a half inch or so above the water level. Looks like you could lower your water level by at least two inches or more. A lower water level will increase the amount of bubbles since your air pump won't have to beat so much water pressure sitting on top of the air stone. Also, try your water temps closer to 68-75F. I also recommend a humidity dome.... some folks say no, but it always works for me.

The back row of three don't look too bad, keep those going but keep those stems out of the water!

Looks like you've got roots on the left back row with the net pot and hydroton!

Cloning gels, powders, solutions, are not necessary for bubble cloners, just straight tap water is fine. Some folks pH the water..... Do not add any nutes until roots have formed to at least 1/2 inch and then only to a PPM of 300 or less.

That has happened to me when ive added superthrive to the bubble cloner. I cleaned off the snot, and cleaned out the bubble cloner and added back some new water and had no problems.

Merman is right, just dont add anything. straight water

i had the same problem with superthrive. i think it might happen with organic rooting solutions. it has something to do with the bubbling of the water and all the oxygen, just like organic tea brewing.
